I have recently started a new char on another server, and made him a master BE, (i know some of you consider BE's the devil) and just figured out that with the template i have i can get MCH, but it will be the only combat skills my char has, is it any good alone? It would be used only to hunt other creatures, no NPC's or other players. And used mostly for gathering meat, so it would help if it could hold its own against a few rancors and ,ereks and creaters of that kind.

if your a good enough BE you could probably make the best pets in the game if you spend enough weeks getting the right DNA, and then, well, it might actually let you fight alone with just CH

If you are going mch/mbe and want to be combat viable i would suggest getting master medic. You already have to take it because of BE and your pet meds coupled with nice pc meds with medic speed will allow you to keep your pets alive. One thing to note is that this will take alot of meds, but you won't have to worry about weapons or even armor or buffs if you don't want. Another suggestionfor grindingwould beto invest in buffs for your pets other than yourself, they may be expensive, but you will save money on the meds you wont have to use.

Good luck, this is a build I almost went myself, but decided I like fighting with my pets.

If you plan on just doing missions maybe....but if you plan on hunting big game....sorry pets dont do enough damage. Try master bio-eng 4000 ch and one of the ranged combat professions.

It will take along time to kill some high end creatures, yes -- but if you have your BE meds and master medic speed with pc meds you should be able to keep your critters alive as long as you need. If you are having a hard time getting your creatures dead, I would suggest engineering some pets with mixed poison and disease values. 3 pets with strong poison won't stack -- but if you engineer yourself a pet with strong poison/medium poison, another with poison spray/strong disease, and another with medium disease/weak poison (or any other mixes of dot's) you can have them dot your target into oblivion.

Also, master medic/master ch wouldbe very helpful in any group --yes, some people still group, andlots more people will do it once buffs and armor are nerfed in the combat rebalance.

In the end, do whatever you think will be most fun for you -- thats the point of the game.

I dont think so. Pets are great for inducing states or DOT´s, but simply wont do enough

damage to be "the only weapon". A Melee class works well with CH. Of course,

this "might" change with the Combat Balance....

If you don't plan on doing lots of fighting you can do alright without any other combat skills. Choosing your pets makes a lot of difference here, because they are the only offense you have.

Using twins or triplets is best because that gives you more states and DoTs you can inflict. Having pets with intimidate and stun greatly increases their survivability and lessens the healing they need. Dizzy/Cripple is a great combination for fighting NPCs. Other specials have their place as well.

I was a Master CH/BE/no combat for a while, and I did just fine. Just fly through smaller creatures rather than trying to wade through the big ones and you can get plenty of meat while saving a ton on stim supplies.

Hi. I'm going MBE/MCH with a little tk or fencer, not sure which yet.. but i figure that i can get thetwo masters and like x-1-2-2 or x-x-2-3 if i choose in ANY combat profession.. that way i can pose some threat, even tho minimal to anything i hunt and still have creatures back me up. you heal with plenty of speed for pet stims.. no need for extra medic skills and with 2 cl35 rancors or 3 lvl 20-23 cats you should be just fine and clean house on pretty much anything.

At leasti hope.. i'll let you know for sure once i get there...
