First off, I want to say this looks like an awsome proffesion. Ive been trying to work out something about a templet but cant seem to find a great one. I would like to have all the extra help and info on pets and the area track of being a ranger, but i also i want to be able to put out alot of dmg on my own (rifleman, TKA, something like that). I want to master CH because i think it is nessecary, but also know i will need alot of medic because im not very good when it comes to keepin my health up, and owrryin about a pet too!
Secondly, what is good thing to try to tame right off? Ive been walkin around big citys and stuff but none of the animals i see i can tame. What is good and where is it?
also, i am on starsider and if anyone wants to help me it would be greatly appreciated, i can maybe pay a little.

Well I'm TKM, CH 2324 and medic 2222. This allows me to tank with my pets and heal my pets close up. That's the combo I'm happy with and I cannot see myself giving it up
I did go up Ranger once, and it was very handy in tracking animals. I can't remember if you'd have enough skillpoints to be TKM, Master CH, Novice Medic and Master Scout and the Tracking tree in Ranger, seems like alot.
As for a good early pet, I would suggest a Cu Pa. Has a good range attack and 1100HAM, plus you cantame it at novice. You could always get a BE pet, one with good HAM, that will get you through the early statges and probably into the higher stages too. Your pet only needs to get one bite on the target to get full experience! Hence why I tank for my pets then have them run in at the end to get a final nibble.
Hope that helps.

My current template is (not complete, but getting there) M. Rifleman (can't dabble in this, have to master to get the good stuff :smileywink
MCH (same here IMO, dabbling is just a waste of SP) and Ranger tracking 3. This allows me to use my pet as a meatshield and snipe the mob, as well as find the mob I want. No real need for med's here as Rifle's are mind sapping, and anyone can use pet med's. This works great for PvE, not sure what aspect of gaming you are going for.
If you are intent on becoming a more up-close elite class, like TK, then medic might be a good choice for you. In that case you will have to be more selective to get that 15 points needed. All you'd need is novice medic and some good Stim B's. Added bonus, you can also use pretty much all low lvl wounds packs at that level.

I'm with Bunneh, get yourself a cu pa on Tatooine for a starter pet. Another good one is the wrix, which you can find on Corellia or Talus.
As a starting CH, your best bet for XP is to take out yard trash with your cu pa or wrix. The XP gains are not spectacular, but they're steady and the prey is unlikely to incap you or your pet, if you're playing cautiously.

Use ctr+s, look at your skill mods, look at max pet level.

Welcome fellow Starsidian!
I've worked my template to be MCH(soon)/TKM/Ranger Tracking 3. I enjoy TKM so thats the combat elite i chose, others might suggest Carbineer or Rifle but its moreabout what you like to do, shoot or kickbox heh.
If you see me on give me a shout. Ch's running around together is always a fun thing ! Also buffage is available with my alts at times. Sig says it all
