Yes, rancors and dewbacks are obvious. I'm talking of some of the more obscure creatures. For example...
You can go to the databank on the official starwars.com website and look under creatures. In that databank, I have found a new and VERY interesting entry. Check it out!
(5 stars for whoever can make this a clicky)

Click on the picture under "Star Wars Profile" and it will enlarge it. Hmmmmm...native to Endor.... does this Condor Dragon look like the inspiration for a certain creature you know?
Seriously, in all sections of that website, you can find the original inspiration of a lot of SW creatures that appear in the game. For me, the one that Lucasarts/SOE really brought to life was the Krayt Dragon. On the official Star Wars website, it's nothing more than a concept sketch (and an odd picture of a model baby krayt). But SWG brings the beast to life in a way that hadn't been done before (yes, I KNOW there's also a Krayt in KOTOR, but I'd bet you as long as SWG was in development that the SWG Krayt came first).
But ANYWAY....I found the Condor Dragon interesting.

And as promised, 5 stars for you!
Think I'll make this one a trivia question at the next BEAST meeting, see how many ppl are paying attention to the forums.

Condor Dragon was changed to Mantigrue to settle a possible trademark infringement from a pre-existing game with 'Condor Dragon' as an enemy name.

The blurrgs don't look like anything they do in Galaxies.
The description says they are herbivore mounts for the Marauders. In Galaxies, they are carnivore raptors, and much cooler, IMO.

Here's another bit of condor dragon trivia. Apparently there was a "running onthe ground" animation developed for it, but never actually used in the game. The devs released a Quicktime video of it (which I still have) at some point on the pre-release forums. If I had a place to host it, I'd post so you guys could take a look.

"The blurrgs don't look like anything they do in Galaxies."
Yes, very true. The blurrgs/kwi skins are based on the cu pa skin, which is loosely based on.....
.....the Taun-Taun.

You need to have Quicktime to view this. For best results, set your video player to continuous loop.
