So this morning before work, I set off to check my harvs. I pull up to my first fusion ion and I see something moving behind it. I see a large cat attacking some krahbu (spelling?). I tab on it and it is a Great Plains Stalker!

I immediately back off and store my swoop and pull pets. Then the adult disappears! NOOOOOOO I hollar and move closer to where it was. I had fallen back too far and as I approached it re-drew and appeared. PHEW!

So I kill the first adult and wait for the next spawn. It is then I notice that things could get tight. Not that far away is an Imperial outpost with stormtroopers, just east of that is a rebal officer. Hmmm. The next adult spawns and I send in my pets, but I start attacking to early and I draw argo. with me not being buffed, I run for my life firing and I am eventually incapped. My pets however, keep up the attack and keep it busy till I recover. I'm so glad I'm not DB'd...

I quickly drop a heal and finish off the adult. I heal one of my pets and wait for the next spawn.

Another adult appears and I send in the pets. I let the pets get good argo then bring my t21 to bear and kill the third adult.

Then I wait and a yellow dot appears... It stays yellow... I can feel my heartrate increase. I tab over and it is a Great Plains Stalker Baby!!!

I quickly store pets and put on my taming pants. I put away my rifle and approach the baby. I check to make sure I have the right toolbar up (if you only knew how many babies I've killed while leveling by accidentally using advanced strafe instead of tame...) and I attempt to tame it.

Suddently it runs away with lighting speed. I try to keep up but fall way behind as I watch it attack the krahbu. I immediately kill the one it is attacking. As I get close to thebaby again, it argo's another. I quickly kill the rest of the herd and put away my rifle. I check to make sure the right toolbar is up, mask scent and move in. I hit tame and follow the little guy around and then I get those beautiful green letters... I tamed it!

Here is a screenie back at the house:

Needless to say, it made my morning.

YES!!!!

That whole Argo thing drives me up a wall...

We should make a global announcement...maybe have SOE make it a story of the week, even...a Friday Feature on in-game short-form, and how to best use it without driving English Majors up a wall...

Please, for love of the maker, use Aggro(or agro even) whenever referencing a creature that is inclined to attack without provocation...Argo...well, that was actually the name of the Vessel that Jason and his mates piloted when they set out for the golden fleece(from whence comes the term Argonauts)...

"In AC2 they reffered to the person being attacked as the person receiving arrgo. As long as they maintained "Arrgo" they kept getting attacked. Some even explained it as gaining argo by doing more damage. It was something achieved and maintained"

Argo v. Aggro - - Yeah, this used to drive me batty as well, even a couple of my guildmates used to do this!! Whoever it was in AC2 they were using the wrong term, ie they meant aggro, as in the player has gained aggro (the mob had aggroed on them or become agressive towards them bc they were doing the most damage). So yes, it is achieved and maintained, hopefully by the designated tank in the group, and this is usually done by doing damage or by using a taunt or similar skill/power. Its the same thing just those you were with in AC2 were ... confused

basically in SWG the last person/creature to hit the beastie is the one it will come after for the most part. there are instances where a creature will "fixate" on a target and keep attacking that target to the exclusion of all else. i believe this to be a side effect of the CH nerf from several publishes ago.

for example a group of four can surround a krayt and take it down with CDEF pistols if everyone stays on opposit sides and maintains steady fire the krayt will become confused and not come after anyone. that is why for a tanking pet speed of attack and hit % are far more important to a tanking pet than damage.

I don't have the coords with me, but I'll post them tonight or in the morning for you. I do know I was SW of Nyax's (spelling) stronghold.
