Thread: Does CL affect ability to transfer/trade pets to non-CH?

The topic pretty much sums up my question. I realize this may be a silly question coming from an MCH, but I haven't done to much taming and training for non-CHs.

A few days ago, a friend asked me to tame and train a pet that he had bought. It was a CL 33 BE pet. I told him that, once the pet grew past CL 10, he wouldn't be able to use it, but he wanted me to train it anyway. So, I did. But, when I tried to give the pet back, I kept getting a message that "this person has too many pets". I got this message with trade and with transfer. He said he didn't have any other pets, and he even destroyed all the droids that he had in his datapad.

As mentioned, I haven't done this to many times, so I'm trying to figure out what the deal is. Am I missing something obvious? Any ideas?

No, you're not missing something obvious. You get that error message for a lot of different things, so its hard to tell what is really happening. However, in your case, you are probably trying to give an aggressive skin creature to your friend. What type of creature was it? Non-CH cannot even hold aggressive creatures in their datapads. Hope this helps!

It was a variation on a shear mite, which are agressive. So, that could very well be what it was.

Thanks!!

No problem. Its a stupid error message that they ought to fix. It needs to be more descriptive as this happens quite often.

The answer to your second question is that you can transfer a non-agro pet greater than CL 10 to a non-ch. He will not be able to call it but he will be able to hold it and trade it back to you. I have done this a number of times for friends when I had a full datapad and they needed something trained.
