Thread: Questions for CH's from an MBE

I had a few blocks of CH a while back, but by no means considered myself an expert in CH. Now that I have ascended through the ranks of BE, I am interested in what the CH profession is looking for when they shop for pets. Also, I am interested to find out what CH's expect to pay for pets. To be perfectly honest, I have a problem subscribing to the 1k per level formula as it will cause most BE's to go broke (=

I stock everything from NON-CH's to twins to triplets to MCH exclusives, etc. Some sell and some don't and there seems to be no pattern (which causes me to just keep making pets, hehe)

Now for a few question:

1.) What skins / colors do you look for?
2.) What specials / resists do you look for?
3.) Is AR1 and High Kin / Energy a must for every pet you purchase?
4.) Are you more apt to commission a BE to custom make a pet or just keep searching vendors 'till you find one you like?

Any other feedback you could give me would be terrific! Thanks

1) Depends on my mood. I think this is really just something you'll likely need to guess on.

2) When I want a pet from a BE I generally want one for PvE, so um...never mind. I have a few different likes. Strong Poison/Disease, Dizzy/Intimidate/KD. These are generally what I like.

3) Yes I want them armored, and yes I want high Energy/Resist. Well at least I will for my next pets. It seems that the NPCs are now fighting smarter than before and are using both Ranged and Melee attacks so I want my pets set for both. However if I could get one with only Energy and another ranged protection and a ranged attack I would be happy too. (Why aren't you on Bria? )

4) Custom. Just because I get bored and fed up with searching for hours for a good pet. I've also asked for "junk" pets for use as statues, dancing partners, etc.

Preferred specials are dizzy/kd/stun/intim/cripple. however i dont think any actually work on command.

pet chassis and color are totally exclusive to the Owner. I have a BE'd hermit spider that is bright green and blood red. its a monster and the colors suit it. AR1 is preferred, but personally I find it not necessary at the expense of other features. I'll take 2 CL35 60/40 kinetic-energy non AR's with 11K HAM over one with it that is 20 CL's higher. I can sacrifice a little protection for the extra damage and specials from a second pet, as well as holding aggro should things go bad.

I think the AR1 adds something like 25% damage reduction before the resists take effect. But seeing the damage my pets take I am not entirely confiden that that is the calculation as applied to pets.....

As a PVE concentrated MCH I prefer AR1 high kin and energy resist and specials I prefer intimidate/strong poison in a single high lvl pet, I know that the poison doesn't work on command but still prefer it.

Skins/colours the GSP or Rancor skins are my personal faves.

These days I rarely use BE pets but if I was after one I would check the vendors first then if I couldn't find what I was after i'd contact the BE to see if the desired result could be produced and contract him/her.

1) If possible something unusual. Hey it's a bio-engineered pet so i would expect it to look different than natural ones

2) if custom ordered, intimidate and poison

3) AR1 is not a must, but high kinetic/energy definitively

4) i stopped searching vendors a long time ago. For me, it's the same problem with droids. Imho everyone has different interests. so i'll always contact a BE if i'm in the mood for a new pet

Since I spend most of my time doing PvE this is what I look for.....

Light Armor a Must !

High Kinetic Resist a Must !

Medium to High Energy Resist a Plus !

Throw in an other resists you can get.

At least 2.0 Attack Speed

At Least 400-410 Damage

I like the Blind and Intimidation specials myself.

Gurreck, Razor Cat, Narglach Skin since they are the quickest

Important:

Fast skins .... cats ....

Ar1 ... high resists ...

High ham

Good "working" specials ....

Low CL ... so you can use 2 or 3 together

Not important:

damage... as a tkm i do 20 times the damage my pet does ....

speeds ... differences are neglectable ...

base-to-hit .... only makes a real difference in real long fights ..

1) razor cats or gurreks, red (all skins are welcome though)

2) stun, intimidate, strong disease, strong poisen. No others matter to me.

3) yes, absolutely, until the combat upgrade. Other resists are much welcome though, i have a 51 b gurrek with 80% to just about everything other than stun and lightsaber that does a nice job tanking nightsisters or force electricity users.

4) If you keep it stocked, i will buy every be pet you make. As long as they are have interesting stats.

Ken 60% is a MUST, however against a nightsister, that is useless. So different types of resists will always be welcomed by me.

edit: one note here. lite armor is a MUST, I have read what the others here have written, but I completely disagree, you are at a massive disadvantage without lite armor. I have various sets of twins with lite armor and 60% ken. Anything else is useless. I know some have said they dont see a big difference, but send in a 60 merrek, and a 60%lite armored pet into battle against something big and you will see which goes down faster, and i mean almost twice as fast.

My only joy in this game is taking down high level creatures like giant dune kimos and krayts, I promise you anything with less than 60%, lite armor and 11k ham is not worth buying, unless you are hunting durnis.

I have MBE main and MCH alt and what I usually make for my alt is:

1) I usually go with Cat skins for PvE pet. I pick whatever for PvP pet.

2) 60Kinetic : I am a PvE player as well and I don't like to heal my pets often
Intimidate: Again, I don't like to heal my pets often

3) Light armor is very important for me. Yet again, I don't like to heal my pets often
If the pet level is higher than 23, I want it to have an armor.

4) N/A as I am a BE. But I sometimes go see other BE shops to see what they are up to

1. Cat skins because they are the fastest and Kimos to just because I like em.

2. Intimidate (if it dosent have this special I rarely buy it), Strong poison (another one of my favs), and last we have KD/Dizzy

3. Yes I must have AR1 and AT LEAST high 50's kinetic on a pet and energy is preffered as well but not required.

4. For PvE pets the meet the above requirements I will just search a BE vendor (If i know he makes good pets), but for specialized jobs in which I am wantign a pet for a certain job like tanking nightsistersI preffer to custom order my pets.
