Hey all,

It has been a long long time since I have cruised over to this forum. I never actively participated in what was my favorite profession of all time but I thought I would share my good times and encourage you to do the same.

Creature Handler was my first elite profession mastered. When I read about this game and the supporting materials, I had made up my mind as to my template. I wanted to be a creature handler first and a ranger second. And that is what I did.

I can remember the excitement of sneaking up and taming my first aggressive creatures and running away scared as they broke mask scent and galloped after me!

I remember being a master of my profession, and a powerful mastery it was. My pets dominated and EVERYONE was somewhat of a CH. 1%? HA, until THEY killed the profession everyone wanted to be one because who doesn't love a companion? I was never solo. I always had some pet, that I named and trained, following around helping me experience content. I was a CH/Ranger which left really nothing for combat skills. PETS were my combat and content. Until they were taken away...

Did you ever cruise into coronet and see a pet bazaar? There would be 3-5 peoplewith there 3 new babies spread out! Maybe it was three graul maulers. Maybe it was 3 rancors? Maybe it was three GSPs, Beetles, or some other non-ch pet. Sometimes there were great combinations of pets being sold. It was exciting!! The thrill of the chase. Getting that all valuable GM. The market was swarming with buyers and sellers.

How about that first end game score! I still have my extinct Frenzied Graul in my data pad. How many times did it take you to tame it? How worried were you that some schmuck would come along and ninja tame it if you failed?

Did you make your first million in the game selling mounts on the all exciting mount night? Did you prepare properly and tame a bunch of creatures ahead of time so they could be mounted right away? Did you experience the problem of getting a full inventory and then realizing that you could not transfer them b/c you could not train the transfer commmand? Hehe. That was not me, but I watched people howling in frustration over that one!!!

In the end, I had very very few natural pets. They had destroyed all worth to them and we were relegated to getting batter babies. Effective, but not the same as taming your own. Sadly, even the bio pets became worthless.

I still have a full inventory of master pets (along with a couple of level 10s for my jedi). I loved this profession more than anything else in the game and I am very sorry to see it go. I hope I can still use my non-ch pets with my jedi in the new system.

To all you CHs who have stuck it out, a deep bow and much respect. Thank you for all the fun, competition, and content you gave me in this game.
