Creature Handler Archive

So i logged on the other day after server up to find a friend of mine who is working his way through the jedi trials in a touch of bother.

He had been after a graul marauder or two for a few days with no luck whatsoever, but low and behold there one pops for him. Being the fearless jedi type he is, in he went hacking and slashing away with his lightsabre. But this beast was proving to be a touch tougher than he first though. If i recall the words were "ouch 120k ham and hits like a truck" .

So he put the call out to the guild to come to his aid. I looked about but there were only two people about at that time. Said jedi and myself, a master creature handler. So off i went to Dantooine to help out.

I got there to see the beast in question and ponder on tactics. Out came my BE'd kimo. Nice and tough i thought, and sent him headlong into the battle. About a min or two later I was reviewing my stratagy, since my poor pet was getting knocked about quite badly. My friend was healing up a touch and my pet fell to the ground exhausted and beaten. Not to worry I thought, and ran over to retrieve my poor pet. I then called upon my arachnid webmaster. In he went poisoning the beast. He did very well some a short while, but alas he also fell to the might of this monster.

Finally i called upon my rancor to help out. In he went tearing and clawing away. All the while my jedi friend was still fearlessly chopping and slashing away at the marauder. The rancor fell, but the beast was almost defeated. The jedi stood toe to toe for a short time and finally brought the beast down to the ground dead !

So there we go, while some might say we are a broken class etc, I felt so useful after that encounter. Fun, entertaining and exhilarating it was.

Off topic, but was this test center? And I got the impression part of the jedi mission is to kill a marauder?

Nice story.

And I agree completely , we are still very useful.

My BE Gurrek, level 68, Laurel, is famous on Farstar, and an esential part of our DWBunker team. She has tanked, alone, 2 SBD and 2 bloodguard at once(And survived), giving the team chance to regroup, and give the TK and swordsman a break, enabling us to get much farther than we would without her.

She has, on every occasion we go there, been an essential part of the team, allowing me to control aggro , one of the hardest jobs in there.She has never died in there either, I look after my pets.

Whilst we are not now the damage dealers of old, we are, with the right choice of pets, able to perform a useful role in the high end content now being introduced.

Sorry, I don't feel very useful as a disposable tank, just throwing pet after pet and something and letting them die. Granted, that was a huge creature that did an ass-load of damage and even if your PA is there that's pretty much what would have been happening with regular players anyways, but we need to be useful for more than just that.

But don't you see the point. Sure there were no TKM/Master Doc's who can solo krayt's. There was but a lowly MCH, who........ got the job done. That's all.

I just hope your friend was appreciative and realises your worth. That would be an important revelation.
