I have a BE'd Kimo that I keep for the coolness factor, and I have one other BE that I keep around for occasional use but for the most part I am a wild pet user. The GSP is still a good tank, the thing is you have to calibrate your expectations. I play unbuffed because I like playing the game with /godmode off. that being said, my 8.5k GSP is a much heartier target than meBut certainly no match for a fully buffed comp wearing TKM/Fencer either....but then...is that a problem with the creatures or with the amazing imbalance of the player's combat abilities?
Thankfully I have no desire to PvP. It's WAY too unbalanced. I just want to have fun with PvE.

For PVE master rifle/CH is quite a bit of fun. My pets can keep baddies off me and apply states while I dish damage. I have no problem handling higher end stuff either. I go after nightsisters (not the 100% immunes) and other high end stuff and I do it with only brandy. Keep in mind that you have to move smart if you are unbuffed and unarmored, but if you use your head you can be a great killing machine but still be mortal...like a glass cannon
Ya know, I see more people in the CH profession that are similar to me than I do anywhere else. It's amazing sometimes. I've never gotten a single (major) buff and jus use brandy. I have some decent armor, but not the new minotaur looking wookie armor. I just go out and do what I can do to survive in the wilds. I'm just starting to work my way into CH (just a couple of skills learned so far) and am enjoying it as I go instead of grinding it all out as fast as possible.
Anyway, I'm going for master rifle & master CH with some ranger skills tossed in so I can track. Looking pretty good so far and I've not heard one really bad thing about the combo yet. Inherent CH problems aside of course ![]()

From everything I've gathered, I'm afriad that pets simply can't be the big damage dealers we want them to be. They can tank for us, but it's up to you to really dish out the damage. That's why almost every CH you see also has good combat skills to compliment their pets.
I wish we could go back to having our pets truly be our weapons. I'd like to role play it out more so that I'm not much of a fighter, but maybe a ranger, medic and master of all big scary beasties
Well that's just depressing.
One shouldn't have to master another profession just to keep theirs effective. But that's what I have to do as a Smuggler if I want to be able to fight. And since you have to as a CH, too...... *sigh* What to do, what to do?
