Thread: Buying pets bug?

I got creature handler last night and trained a few pets. That was kinda fun for about 20 minutes, but pets grow WAY to slow for my liking to get CH exp in combat so I decided to buy grown pet instead for the time being.
Try one, I buy a grown regular cu pa out of the bazaar. DL11, shouldn't be a problem. When I bought it I had forgotten to put my zucca boar away so my new cu pa went straight to my data pad. I put my zucca away and pulled out my cu pa. It was TINY. This isn't right so I looked at my data pad. The cu pa is now listed at 1(11) instead of 11(11) or however full grown are listed. I thought maybe the guy screwed me. I was pissed and went on my way, buyer beware right...
So I go to Tatooine to train me a few more critters and I notice a pet dealer on my overhead map. I head into the place and see he has a DL12 Dewback. Okay still not a problem. I make sure my other pet is put away and buy the dewback. He gets x-fered to my inventory with no problems. I do the radial menu and have examine, drop, tame. I hit tame and the DL 12 dewback drops onto my data pad. I look at the pad and what do you know...DL1(12). GRRRRR
So STUPIDLY I decide to try again. I had borrowed a mountable cu pa from a friend some time back before I got CH so I knew I should be able to use one. I go to the person's shop and purchased one of his mountable cu pa DL10. Drops in my inventory again. I hit the radial menu and something isn't right. Examine, drop, tame are my only options. So I tame it. Data pad shows(10). I call him out. Only option is to train him in store, attack and follow.
What happened here, did I do something wrong or am I seeing that if your a CH you can't get mounts unless you have the CH skill.

This is not a bug. Even if you but pets off a vendor its a pet deed which shows you the FULLY grown stats. When you tame it and and it going into your datapadit will be a baby and will still have to grow just like a wild one. And you can only train mounts once you have 0004 in ch. While you are a novice you only get like 3 commands

Buying Pet Deeds from the bazaar will always start at CL1. They are made by Bio-Engineers and need to grow just like wild ones

Okay but what about the mountable cu pa? Before I was CH I could buy one and it's mountable and everything ready to go out of the box, but after CH I have to have CMIV and if I don't it takes all the abilities away?? That doesn't seem right.

I dunno that may be something they fixed with a patch and its not dooable anymore I dont buy nounts i just go find one and train it after a few days.

If you buy a fully grown and trained mount from another player (CH or otherwise) it will be full grown and a mount. You can only transfer a fully grown pet thru the transfer command or the secure trade window by trading the control device from their datapad to your datapad. If goes into your inventory than it is a pet deed (BE created pet) and has to be raised just like a tamed baby wild creature.
A mountable pet must still be trained by a CH that has the ability to train mount. So with your CuPa just have a CH that can train mount train it for you. It will remain full grown but now be mount trained as well
