It's not quite a giant angler, but I did end up getting one of the pets on my want list last night: piket plains walker.
I've been wanting one for awhile, but only ever saw a couple piket babies, never a plains walker baby, and the pikets were always above my level and I couldn't tame them.
Well no longer.
I was on Dant last night (obviously) doing some missions, and my second missions was a piket plains walker lair, and as I arrived, I saw it: piket plains walker (baby). So I stored my pets (I had 2 out), mask scented, and ran up, and sure enough pulled him on the first try! Although I wasa little preturbed, because as I was checking the datapad, looking at his stats and such, I look up to see a huurton howler going after my new baby! So I bust out my blaster and go to work on it, but not before it took out my new baby, so my piket plains walker already has wounds before I ever even had a chance to train it. 
But... I can now check off another pet from my list of wants, and as it turns out, the piket plains walker is my current best pet, so that's always a winner too. I also got a regular piket in the deal too.
God, I'm already running out of room in my datapad and I haven't even started going after the rares yet... *sigh* As a side note, speaking of running out of datapad room, I did delete my angler that I tamed... gonna have to get rid of my shaupaut hunter here pretty soon too.
