Which should I got, 1114 or 2223? I was thinking 2223, I don't need a Packmaster Title.

I guess skill points aren't an issue with you. Cause to pick 2nd box across the board you'll spend 12 skill points, to pick 4th box of Managmenet only 2... CL will go up by 5 by going to 1,1,1,4 vs by 6 with 2,2,2,3

But if you have plenty of skill points to invest go with 2,2,2,3 as this gives you taming vicious creatures, embolden pets and guard command. Embolden pets is really nice thing to have.

How many skill points do you actually have available? Those two templates don't equal the same number. 1-1-1-4 costs 29 SP, while 2-2-2-3 costs 39.

For any elite profession, you'll get your most efficient investment of skill points by going straight up single branches, rather than going wide across the bottom (while the reverse is true for start professions). This is assuming that the boxes you get by going up are actually useful to you. Thus, if you have 29 SP, you could do 1-1-1-4 (7 boxes gained), or do 0-4-0-4 (8 boxes gained, 1 SP left).

Box 1 of Taming (1-0-0-0) gives nothing that all the other boxes don't give as well, +creature level and +taming wild creatures. If you're not going further up this line to get Taming Vicious Creatures, spend these 5 skill points on some other box that gives you an additional command or bonus you might want.

Going up the Training line (up to 0-4-0-0) gives you more pets you can keep in your datapad at each level (in addition to the +level and +taming wild that every box in the tree gives), plus the Stay, Guard, Patrol, and Formations commands.

The Empathy line gives you 2 pet tricks (not sure how necessary they are now, with pet stims), plus the Embolden and Enrage commands at the top, which I have as yet had no experience with one way or the other.

The Management line (0-0-0-4) gives new commands (Group, Follow Other, Friend), an additional pet at level 3 and the ability to make a pet into a mount at level 4 (only certain species).

Personally, as someone who like you doesn't expect to have enough skill points to master the whole tree, I'm going for Training, for more datapad storage (as a BE, more useful to me than taming vicious creatures), and Management, for an additional pet out and the Mount command. Another advantage to going all the way up certain lines is that the top boxesoffer the cheapest skill point cost (2 SP at tier IV) while giving the largest bonuses of their lines (e.g., Pet Level +5, Stored Pets +4, Taming Vicious Creatures +15, all of which are lower in the boxes beneath).

Whatever you decide, good luck!

Actually you don't gain Embolden until the 3rd box of the Empathy line. So, if you wanted that you'd have to modify your template to 2,2,3,3 or something similar.

I agree with Zip_Moonblast's analysis to a tee. It gets you the most for the least amount of skill points. The only thing you'll be lacking is the ability to tame vicious creatures and command over the creature's specials.

Personally, I don't think you're missing anything by not taking the Empathy tree. In my opinion it's easily the weakest tree.

Embolden is at 2. Trick2 is at 3.
