best spiders in general would be arachne on endor. if you have the patience, go for an arachne widow. they can spawn around the science outpost(lot of people say to the southeast, though that's not always the case. you may want to start there anyway.).

otherwise go for an arachne webmaster. lot more common.

Also Dath. Gaping Spiders and Gaping Spider Hunters. I just got a Gaping Spider Queen, very nice pet. But, start on Naboo. Nightspiders and Hermit spiders to get started. Then Endor and Dath. I love my Webmaster. Looking for that Widow now. My first was a Nightspider. Also Yavin, Angler is okay but Giant Angler is pretty nice.

Gaping spider recluse are slightly better then hunters , theyhave poison spray special. Thats the aoe strong poison attack.

Also they grow huge, larger then any other tamable spider I think.

I have hunted every type of spider and like the aracne's of endor the best. The Webmasters are cl 50 making very nice pets and if you have the patience the aracne Widows have an area poison attack that is very nice.

I would also recommend the Giant Anglers of Yavin which are cl 35 and Gaping Recluses of Dath.

If only the Gaping Spider Queens had AR1, they would be perfect.

When it comes to the spiders in the game my personal favorites are the Gaping Spider lines that are found on Dathomir.

I have 2 regular Gaping Spiders each at CL26 and 1 Gaping Spider Hunter at CL44.

At Master CH I will either pull the 2 Gaping Spiders as a duo team or will pull 1 of the Gaping Spiders and the Gaping Spider Huner for 70 levels of pets pull just for added firepower when it is needed.

I just like the looks of the gaping spiders over the angler line found on endor......personal preference

Hope this helps.

I have a gaping spider recluse that is a fantastic tank, and has nice special attacks (the poison spray mentioned above). Also if you're a master CH, go tame a pair of giant anglers. That's definitely a tough duo to have at your disposal.

Greetings,

I have always been a great fan of the Spider and Graul families. I have tamed just about every type of spider that spawns babies. I have tamed 3 Arachne Widows. On a BE vendor, I found an Angler made with Bark Mite Burrower Queen DNA.What a great find for me.Thanks to BlackDiamond for making such a creature. Her name is (Silk) ,andshe isnearly always by my side. I have also tamed two Gaping Spider Queens. I do wish they had armor, though they still make decent fighting pets. I tend to prefer the Gaping Spider Hunters to the Recluses because the Poison Spray can be difficult to control and tends to aggro nearby MOBs which might not otherwise join the fight. The Recluses and Hunters are common enough to be replaced easily if that's your thing.

The only time (Silk) has been incapped is when we were fighting four Frenzied Grauls at once alone. While managing crowd control, I lost track of my ham and got incappedthen killed before I hit the ground. No chance to try force of will.I stored her using the datapad and my heart raced to see if she had taken a vitality hit. Fortunately, she was spared that tragedy. Then we promptlyreturned to the spawn spot to finish the rest of them off. What a trooper!

If you arn't strictly into pure spiders the Merrecs are great and are at least half spider. The toxic Merric Battle lord is an easy to find and very effective tanking pet.

Mereks are fantastic. I still remember the first Merek, a Cavern Creeper, I tamed many months ago (long before mounts and vehicles, lol). It wasthe most disturbing looking creatureI had seen. I have always liked them and still haveone in my datapad to this day. The TMB's did not take that much of a hit in the great creature rebalance. The DMA does a respectable job in PVE as well. Too bad the Harvesters are not tamable. LOL.
