I picked up my baby Mantigrue Screecher this weekend. It was a challenge and a half. I was tapping screecher lairs southeast of the Science Post for most of the day on Saturday. My first baby appeared and after failing in the tame and having it aggro, I watched in terror and dismay as an Arachne Webmaster took a huge dislike to it. I then went back to tapping lairs and I learned a nice little trick.

I have found a big tendancy of lair bunching up. When I come upon a screecher lair, I scout the areas around it for non-agro lairs. When I find one I sneek up to the lair, hit a screecher with a dot and bolt back to the other lair. When it aggros me, I try to time my pet's attack to coincide with it being near the non-aggro lair. When Mr Screecher uses is area-disease, the other non-aggro pets agro on the screecher (every little bit helps). On one attack, I had 5 Blurg hunters assisting my pet.

Finally, I managed to persuade another baby to appear, it's momma did not appreciate me trying to steal her baby, I tamed the baby, but got diseased for my efforts. Time to hit the medical center with 1 point of health remaining.

I also picked up another Arachne Widow. I have found with the Widows, there is no need to tap the lair at all. I look for a lair that has 1 Queen and 2 Widows, I then hit the Widow with a Health DOT making sure my Mask Scent sticks. If the Mask Scent drops or they detect, hold off and refresh. When it aggros, I sick my pet on it and finish it off away from the lair. I continue to 'work' on the Widows and eventually a baby will spawn.
