It's time for me to step away from MCH too... Which I've only had for a couple weeks now.

Tonight, I got to see my CL 56, 390-400 damage, 11k ham rancor fight with gurks. And it didn't look like their health was really going down, so I swapped to my combat log and watched... and then started spamming healthshot1 with my FWG5 (Marksman 0402 only) and I easily outdamaged one of the most frightening beasts in the Star Wars setting.

*sigh*

I hope that the combat rebalance happens so that CH can be a good profession (again). Heck, even a half-way decent one.

I'd like to see pets gain a +/- skill modifier with use... say you take your melee pet and have him work as a tank... well then after a while he/she should start increasing their skill modifier... Maybe have it based on your pet's kills... I dunno I just wish something was done... I generally just use my pets as a distraction and headshot3 my target into the dirt...

a year in Iraq: Sucks bad
coming back to SWG to find things have come full swing and your profession is useful again: AWESOME!

Veld,

Good Luck where ever you may wind up.

Not against broad changes, just profession specific ones (read as CH) that go against what we've been told in the past.

Thanks, Pluto. Sad to leave CH behind - I like the pets. But at this point, it just doesn't make sense. Not when I can be much more effective with a different skill.

Of course, part of my problem is that I really am trying to let the pets do my work for me - I mastered ID and with the new system in place, I'm NOT dropping that (120+ hours to re-master? Forget that.) I don't have space for a second all-out combat profession for my pets to be a 'backup' to.

I hope that some day I can come back to CH. Good luck, everyone. I'll keep my fingers crossed for CH getting repaired (I'll not say 'fixed' when we're talking about pets. I think they've been... gelded enough already.)

I hesitate to wonder what it'd be like, my Rancor against a wild one, one-on-one... I tried that with a plains cat, once... and mine was definitely losing. I think my rancor would pretty well get trashed. Sad state of affairs, that - when a pet can't go toe-to-toe with its cousin.

While I'll always be a CH, I know where you're coming from. Tonight I FINALLY, after months and months, found my wasteland cu pa spawn and was waiting for the baby. I have almost no combat skill, so decided to pull out my wild rancor that had been growing and unused for anything yet. Against LEVEL 19 ANIMALS, after 6 adults my rancor was down by 1/3. That's ridiculous.
