Overall i had better results with natural Pets, who were also at home on the planet you hunt on, e.g.huurtons on Dantooine, Mutant Baz Nitches onDathomir...
Also its not strictly Level vs Levelbased... Some creatures give moreXP vs specific targets.
For Quenkers on Dantooine i recommandHuurton Stalker babies..

If you have a BE pet and a CH pet of the same level, will you get the same amount of experience when using them? If so, would it not be best to get a lower level BE that has comparable HAM for the purposes of tanking?
Thanks.

I'm not sure if what Bajonett is saying is right or not, but in general the rule is:
Lower level creature = More exp.

Well, I only recently got MCH, and as an MBE, I've noticed the pet's I made did not give me as much xp as a natural pet. I discovered this at the Genosian Cave on Yavin 4. Since it's so far out, I tamed a Gackle Bat Hunter along the way, it's level 15. I noticed that when taking on Genosians at the entrance, I would get about 900-1000 xp per kill with a comparable BE pet. But when I used my Bat, wow, I got 1500 xp. I also tried the same thing with one of my BE made non-ch Bantha mounts, at level 8. I got crap for xp (This I can't quite explain)...
So, it appears true that not only does level matter, but if it's natural, it'll be better to level with.
