Brother, I feel your pain and let me explain why. I recently have taken up rare pet hunting. I researched and found waypoints for the GPS on ahazi. I was doing my search for 5 days and I saw nothing. I thought they were just a pain in the arse was was about to give up. Wasn't worth it. But the next day I logged in after reset and BAM! 200m from me was a GPS. I pull pets, have the doc buff me and go to work. Last spawn and I was like OMFG BABBBY!!! In my estatic glee of finding one of the most rarest babies in game, I put on my CH smock and run up to tame him. First time he aggros me. All of the sudden I hear a T21 going off. In my feeling like a kid in a candy store, I had forgotten to unequip my weapon. I start hauling arse trying to hit the key in my hotlkeys to unequip it but it was too late. I had killed the little bugger in like 4-5 shots. It still stings to think about it and that was about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I haven't looked since but I will get back to it. I took a break and started hunting rhoa kwi pack leaders, swamp stalkers, and screechers. I got my screecher finally and my pack leader. Now for that elusive stalker and arachne widow. Take a break, it helps. But don't give up. I find rare pets frustrating as heck but also so rewarding when you do get that rare. Good luck to you.

Well, i got my mantigrue tamed with the first or second try. Had my full clothing complement on and activated mask scent... +15 mask scent/camo and +40 taming as well as +9.2 taming food. I never had to do more than two tries on any pet with these things. Don't know what you did though.

Well I can add a samp stalker baby to the list of poofs. Just spawned and went immediately for my pet. I ran like a bat out of hell hitting the follow command so pet wouldn't kill it. finely it stops chasing to do what? It runs back to spawn point and poofs. Dammit babies should not poof. They are rare enough as it is. Well back to hunting.

I try and always tame while Im on my speederbike. Makes "kiting it" quite easy when the baby or the whole mob agros out on me. Plus its also easier to catch up with the baby again. The disappearing baby thing is definetly a pain. Another thing which gets on my nerves is when the whole spawn (lair and all) disappears when the time of day changes.

Yea hunting pets can be a real pain. I remeber before all the nerfs Hunting down frenzied grauls , Mereks and webmasters could sometimes take days of nothing but hunting. Oh how I miss those days.
