Im a BE coming back from a long break. Everything is changedfor BE. I have heard that creatures now regenerate very quickly, and pet stims are no longer needed. Is this true?

I wouldn't say they aren't needed. In a high level even match, pet stims could mean the difference between a pet surviving a battle or being incapped.

The pet regen does make pet stims much less necessary but they still serve a purpose.

When I was a BE I made a decent living off of crafting pet stims. Those days are gone. BE's make money crafting people stim D's now. That is your new bread and butter.

Although I haven't shopped for any recently, I would definitely use some good pet stims. I've been wondering if they are capable of getting up into the 1k+ healing range.

It takes a lot of very high end resources to make stims that don't even come close to those made pre-curb.

Patch 20, if it goes live and we all know it will, is going to create a situation where pets and pet owners get ganked by mobs. Pet stims will become much more necessary than they are now, or creature handlers will slowly stop using pets and respec to something else...

Pet stims use fish, which many people won't bother with. It can be time consuming and tedious which some people find mind numbingly boring. At least fish don't aggro on you (yet).

Most people now have some medic and that's pretty much all you need even with the good health regen now.

What are the fish stats that are important? I can't find good pet stims and it might be worthwhile for me to go fishing and then make a deal with a BE

The same three stats apply to all BE tissues, OQ, FL and PE. OQ weighs 50%, FL and PE both weigh 25%. No other stat on the fish matters for BE tissues, including pet stims.

I can assure you, if you bring your local BE a boat load of fish they will make pet stim D's for you at a marked discount.

Thanks a bunch for the info ... think I might take to carrying around a fishing pole in my travels and seeing if I can find some good fish!

ditto, pets regen fine after combat but during combat my current pet stims are far from sufficient.

PetStimDs require fish meat.

PetStimCs require Dath insect meat. Obviously much easier to obtain in bulk.

The thing is, Zanti made some very nice PetStimCs pre CU, and they were ruthlessly nerfed and made less effective in much the same way that just about every pet in my menagerie was.

Because pet health regen rates improved so much with the CU, I rarely use petstims now in combat, mainly because they're on the same timer as my stims are, and because they were so badly nerfed (a stim C that used to heal 1000 points now heals 475) they're hardly worth using, assuming you can be in range for them to work. Nowadays I use the petstims I have AFTER the battle to speed up the regen process.

As Spazzers indicates, pub 20 may create new dynamics that make pet stims more important. We'll just have to wait and see or rely on TC folks to clue us in.
