first off , my main had been a ch for over a year, and have seen and done quite a bit with the profession..i have never been an advocate of "grinding" ch, but in this case i am wanting to make my alt a carbon of my pre jedi main, so i am looking for relativly quicker ways to get chxp...

i find that using pets on the dant hunting groups is not always appreciated by other players, and the solo grind seems to have been remover from the game, unless i am missing something..

i would like to hear methods used by other players to gain ch xp in a relatively timely manner..

as a sidenote, i also heard you can delete a file in the swg folder that allows you to run both toons at once..this would be handy in transfering pets without a 3rd party involved..anyone know details of this?

In my opinion, taming and training babies was the easiest way of getting CH xp, especially when your a low lvl and don't have any strong pets.

If you want to grind CH, I'd recommend hunting with your guild/friends in groups. They'd likely understand and you could let your pet do all of the killing for the maximum xp possible. If you're needing to get a profession to compliment it like a combat prof, I'd work on that first and then grind CH, or grind CH and then not use your pets while your fighting because the xp gets divided. Either will boost your lvls to net your more xp on grinding the other.

The only reason people get upset at me using my pets is because they can't target the kill to harvest it.

Just remember to tell it to "follow you" after it dies or use a flying pet and you should be fine.

You don't delete a file. There is an .ini file where you need to change a flag from 0 to 1 to allow multiple instances.

It might be "user.ini". The flag should be named something about multiple instances. I'm at work and it has been a long time since I tried it, so I can't be more specific.

Best way to get creature handling XP fast would be getting in a group and going hunting - don't attack the mobs, just let the pet attack. Or you, could have the pet attack one and you attack a different creature. So you are still helping out, but you are getting some decent CH XP at the same time.

Suppose if you aren't into the whole group thing, you could just drive around for a while and tame the babies you see, train them, and let them go.

Take missions from the terminals and hit the lairs until a baby spawns, tame it, train it, let it loose.

/shrug. Just some ideas.

I would have to agree with ObsidianBlades - the fastest way to master CH is to get a pet with the attack command, go group hunting and let your creature get the hits.

Another trick is that if you have ranged/melee state moves your group may find useful (snaring, rooting etc) then equip the lowest damage weapon you have (CDEF) and use that - you will cause the states to affect the target but the creature will out damage you and give you near maximum creature xp.

/nod. Very true.

As long as the pet attacks a lair/creature once, you get xp. So even pulling should get you some nice amount of points.

go group hunting with anyone let the group member shoot 1st send pet in to attack. Because of the max damage agro your pet hardly gets scratched and as long as you dont use your own weapon all the exp goes to CH. i leveled up a ch on eclipes doing this the higher level you are the exp you get.

i found it easer to level now than pre CU..

Go for 0-0-0-3 to get the pack skill (2 pets) not train 2 pets with different attack commands.

Find a group that does multi-pulls and send pets to different mobs the exp comes in faster.
