Thread: Pet Special attacks and the corresponding commands.

I'm a bit confused here! and a little embarrassed to even ask the question, but its gotta be done.


I am a Master CH (linked with Master Pistoleer) and love the profession.


2 of the commands I can train my pets are "Special Attack 1" and "Special Attack 2". I thought that usung these commands made the pet attempt to use the relevant special attack, but it was not 100% certain to use it.


Having read the forum a bit, it seems these 2 commands do not make the pet use the attacks?


Can someone clarify this for me, and if the 2 commands are not what I thought, can you tell me exactly what they do???

You are exactly correct. The special attack commands are SUPPOSED to let you command the critter to do the attack, when you tell it to do so. In reality, they never work as advertised, and this is a known and acknowledged bug.


The work around is to have your pet follow the prey, then do the special, then do a regular attack. Please note that this is just a work around until the bug is fixed (estimated around March of 2010, at this rate). Most CH's seem to have pretty good luck with making a macro that has the pet follow, then use the special, then attack.


On a side note, most pets do seem to use their specials on a regular basis, when they want to.
