Thread: Creature Handler Questions

I am quite new to the game so forgive me for any silly questions

I plan to mainly play PvE and primarily solo. Does Creature Handler sound like it would be appropriate for this? If so, could you make some suggestions on what other professions to include to compliment Master CH.

I thought, perhaps, that Rifleman might meld well with it and some level of healing (Novice Medic?).

I was also considering Master Doctor, but it sounds like a very craft oriented class what with all of the components needed. I am fairly certain that it would be very time consuming to find components but who knows?

Thank you!

You can pickup almost any combat profession if you only plan to do pve.

Rilfeman, pistoleer are the favorit ranged professions, tka and fancer for melee. With basic medic skill you should be fine.

Thank you for the reply, Cielago

If I take Master Rifleman and Master Creature Handler along with Novice Medic that still leaves me 37 points to distribute according to the character build thingy. Where should I put those points?

Or are there some better builds for CH that you all know? I have so little experience with the game that I do not want to look back down the line and say: 'Oooops!'

Thank you !

You may want to consider using some of those skill points for close-up combat, like melee or pistol skills. Rifle is great at a distance, but I can't count how many times the Enemy NPCs will get right in your face and fight. I'm a Master CH and pistoleer and can solo almost anything. I've easily taken down rancors and such...haven't tried a Krayt Dragon, but someday I will.

You might also want to put those skills in Novice Artisan and the Surveying tree. You are going to need some way to pay the bills. CH does not make much money and the early missions do not pay much. With Surveying you can put down a harvester, visit it once a day, and make money. You can also run easy Survey missions from the Artisan terminal for quick, no risk, cash. I can make more selling resouces from one day of harvesting than I can from a week of missions.

I also suggest survey skills in the artisan prof. But I wouldnt waste my time with harvesters. I would simply use a /sample macro and leave it running overnight. In the morning you will have more of that resource than any single harvester can dig up - and possibly more than 2 harvesters can get. My sample macro goes like this:

/kneel

/pause 1

/sample

/pause 4

/sit

/pause 25

/ui action toolbarSlot11

Put that in your F12 slot. The last line is what loops it.

I don't wanna hijack this thread or anyhting, but yes,a 0004 artisancan /sample faster than a single heavy. You cannot pull 14k a night with one heavy can you? More like 7k on a 75% I believe.

i dumped all my extra points into medic 4340 and doing that i can drop around 6k health into my pet every 12-15 seconds. this allows me to solo krayts with only moderate difficulty. but im also thinking of dropping my medic skills to 2040 and taking up the 4th tree in marksmen for supression fire.
