I was just wondering, as CH, what is the purpose of gathering milk from creatures that give milk? Can you make some money selling the milk? What is the milk used for? Why would you feel the need to gather milk i nthe first place for someone else? And overall...why? Just why? Please explain. I'm a bit lost.

You cannot use milk as a CH. You can sell it, however, to Bio-Engineers and Chefs (who do need it). Gathering milk isn't really a CH-specific ability... it's a Scout ability.

Actually, because not many people taker the time to go a'milking (kind of like fishing) it's pretty valuble and is a great sideline income.

Can BE's use milk to make segments that Tailors can use to make CH clothing?

Doesn't seem that way. I usually have trouble selling it at 5cpu, and i get such low amounts of it.

That's what I'd heard, but as I never make any clothing parts when I was a BE I never really paid attention.

*chuckles* But if there's any BE's on Scylla reading this, if this info is correct and they want to make some custom modded wookiee clothes, I have a good supply of 1000 OQ milk that I could give some of in trade.

Sharnaffs give a lot of milk so its easy to gather quickly. I throw it on the bazaar for 10 cpu and it always sells quickly so I could probably ask more. I milk animals then kill and harvest. Two sellable items from one animal, it can't be all bad.

Yes, milk goes into tranquilizer tissues which are used to increase your taming bonuses. Each tissue takes 25 milk so that's the multiplier you need to effectively sell it to BEs. The stats we're looking for are 1/3rd each PE/OQ/FL and we get the best bonuses when they're 800+. A full crate of the tissues require 625 and a full factory run takes 25k (whoa, a *lot* of milk).

It also goes into the dimate chef tissue line which reduces the filling requirement on food. However I've never sold many of these tissues, most chefs want the nutrient line which increases the effect of the food. The multiplier for these are 20/500/20k for lights, 30/750/30k for mediums and 40/1k/40k for heavies. (tissue/crate/factory run)

Good quality milk can also be used as a creature resource and put into pets or most other tissues.

That's the problem is that you're selling it in low amounts. Stuff like that, the more you can gather, the more it goes for.
