I was going to Yavin IV today to hunt some Black Sun and right outside the Mining Outpost, I found a male mamien (baby). I tamed it, but not sure if this is a rare spawn or not. Never seem them before. I've only seen the mamien youth.

The sticky up at the top of the page has it under "Uncommon" so I'd say...it's uncommon?

You can pull Mamien Lair Missions at the Outpost Terminals. Your chances are pretty high if you are looking for one of these. They're just not really sought after.
I had one a while back. They're fun pets to have out in hospitals or in the city trade and travel area. Giant Gackle Bats are pretty cool pets, too.

If you like the pet, I'd keep it. You won't get much, if anything, for it.
I have a hard enough time getting anything for good, even rare pets.

I loved my Male Mamien when I had it. It is not a pet everyone has. It has its little quirks. I stopped in the middle of no where on Tat once. I was next to a dwarf nuna lair. I went /afk for a bit and when I came back my M. Mamien was following the dwarf nuna around all on his own. It was kinda fun to watch him take on a curiousity all his own.
I think I will go back and grab 3 after I release my Malklocs. I used to have my Male Mamien and my Squill as my CL35 duo. Way back before the CL rebalance.
