Ok I decided to take the CH profession by choice and was about halfway through it when they nerfed it but I stuck with it. It has been extremely slow going and am now only 3-4-3-3 and I have been doing this for several months now. The thing that bothers me, and I know this has been said before but I had to clear my mind, is the fact that experience has been so badly nerfed that I dont think I will ever make master. A perfect example of this is tonight when I went to Endor to fight some of the crazed Gurrecks I hear so much about. Well I had a lvl 21 and 22 pet out and got 140xp and 130xp for them. Not too bad unless you need 320k xp for master. Now I would have to run 1185 of these missions taking about 276 hours of gaming just to make master. Yet I get 2-3k Swordsman per kill. So I look for a larger target, a roaming desert Borgle. I pull a lvl 40 pet out and it cons yellow to me. I proceed to kill it with relative ease, it was a single so no other adds, and get almost 4k swordsman and a whooping 40 CH xp. This was a YELLOW. I really would like to finish what I started with CH but it is not seeming to be worth it. I am going through pet and normal stims like they are candy and all for 40xp. I understand that they wanted to regulate the number of people who become CH's but coudnt they have done it a different way. Maybe lower the amount of baby's that spawn or how long it takes for them to grow up. Maybe adjust the effectiveness of Bio-engineered pets, more then they already did. There is nerfing and there is what they did to CH. Oh well I will try to finish up and maybe be able to enjoy the pets but I am thinking not. Sorry to have bored you all with my post but I had to vent.

I always see at least 1-2 CH's at the geo caves at times when lots of people are there so their creature can get away and the geo guy will just target a melee profession person. You might want to check it out. One guy sad that he was getting 3k a pop, but I am just saying what somebody else said

Oooooh, the Geo-Caves give good exp? I like that. Heehee

Dude, the best place to go is Dathomir and hunt some Rancors. You get like 1400xp when a level 24 pet attacks.

Baby spawns seem to be up on Corbantis, I see a baby in over 1/2 the spawns lately. I'm 2-2-1-2 now so I have enough commands I get 900+ xp per tame. That has been much faster for me than fighting with a pet.

It took me 6 month to master, I choosed CH since the beginning.

I agree it is slow but it is makeable

In the middle of the CH tree, I spent much time taming and taming over and over again.

The last upper line, I did it by fighting with some pets (like babies with a light armor, you get some nice xp on average mobs).

I would also suggest you go to a big ubber cave and let people fight, just send in your pet from time to time.

Good luck

Took me about 6 months to master also. I didn't work at it purely, but tried to use the lowest pet I could to get the most xp.

Groups work well because you can max XP on high level stuff without getting you or your pet killed. I didn't go to the geno caves till after I was master but the XP there is big (1-2K per kill). You could probably hook up with a group at the starport or at the caves.

Rancors give great XP as well, even with mid level pets.

Get some one else to kill them for you.....all you need to do is make sure you get your pet to "tap it" and get credit for damaging it.

And don't hunt with adults after big stuff, hunt with babies after little stuff. Take some two day old BE'd level 14's or so and go and just kill everything in sight on Corellia. They'll be a level 4 approximately, go up against bagerasets and humbabas and such, no missions, just "walk and kill it if it moves" outside of Coronet, and you'll go through them so fast you'll be getting 40k an evening easy.

Actually the Geo caves are a good place to get xp. I have been playing since april and just mastered CH Monday night. I only grinded for about two weeks. But with four classes in college, my time was limited to playing the game. Anyway, for the geo caves I used a graul mauler and was getting about 1160 xp for the crazed geo's and 1800 xpfor the kiwis's and droids. So when I got a crystal snake I was making 1200 xp for the crazed geo's and 2000 xp for the kiwi's. The good thing about the geo caves is that you are not alone and I got most of my training there (even got my master ch training there). But the spawn rate differs by how many people are there. The more people that is there the more spawns which means more xp in a certain time span. It is pretty challenging there so I would get buffed and wear your best armor. Sometimes there is a doc there that buffs and can rez you.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck!

I'm not sure if this technique will still work (I've been away from the game for 4 months and just came back). I mastered CH in a little over a week using the following method. Caught two cu pas. Grinded to being able to pull them both out as quickly as possible (0030) I believe. Then just run in a clockwise (or counter-clockwise if you want to be difficult) direction around mos eisley killing everything in sight. The town is big enough that new creatures respawn by the time you get back to where you started. I was pulling down 50-60k ch xp per hour doing this.

A word of caution, I thought I read somewhere that they nerfed us so that we only still got one creatures xp from using two creatures (each creatures xp is halved equalling one regular creatures xp). If this is the case, still use two since they kill creatures faster, lead to your pets taking practically no damage, and allow you to have each pet attack a different target simultaneously.

I hope that helps!
