why, oh why, did you nerf ch in preparation for a combat rebalance that isnt going to take place for another 10 months? I can see the devs now, "hmm okay lets schedule the combat revamp for october of 2004, sound like a good date everyone? yes sir. okay great. now we need to start nerfing proffessions to prepare for this combat revamp. Okay so lets go ahead and nerf ch in december of 2003, and we'll nerf the rest of the proffessions in the actual combat revamp patch. sound good everyone? yes sir. okay now we are going to add a whole bunch of high end content. How about some npc dungeons well off groups of 20 can easily fail, sound good everyone? yes sir. *engineer raises hand* *developer calls on him* yes? well sir, if you nerf ch 10 months early, and then start buffing everything, theres going to be a huge gap between that proffession and all the rest. whats your point? when the combat revamp comes out everything will be balanced again. Well yes sir, but what about the 10 months between the revamp and the ch nerfing patch? ummm, well, the ch's will just have to deal with it. okay now, lets give all the proffessions newer higher damage, cool looking weapons, what do you all think? yes sir. okay next item of business is......................."

I thought the nerf was because of the stupidly unbalanced PVP aspect............where noobs were using Cowardly Gurrecks to kick ass and sometimes actually joining in.
PVP affects a far greater number of people than the CH total......unbalancing CH is less of an issue than major unbalanced PVP.....from a Dev point of view

they've nerf ch a total of 2 or 3 times. one of those were to balance pvp. the other(s) were to "prepare for the combat revamp" what a load of crock

The simple answer is this: Pokemon. I hope that word isn't edited any more.
People hated CH's, and moreso, CH dabblers. The devs needed to take quick action, and so they did. At the time, they thought the rebal was going to be about four months away, and they'd be prepping a few professions at a time. They did us, and then they pushed it off. My theory is that they'd pulled too many people for JTL that it just wasn't feasable to work on.
Now the FAIR thing to do would have been to rebal CH again to make it viable for the upcoming combat one. But they didn't, which is warning sign number one. Warning sign number two, you don't see any other professions on the list for a revamp BEFORE the changes, do you? Warning sign number three, the decreased dev activity in the professions forums.
I think you're on the nose with ten months, and we're short shafted again. They'll have problems with the Jedi revamp, and so they'll push the combat one to after JTL is released and fixed and patched.

Hi all
Have read your post, you say that the revamp (revamp,,by that you mean the balance ) is planed for October, going by some of the other posts i have read latey i thought it was coming out on 1st August, dose anyone know the exact date or month the balance will be, i have been telling myself to hang on to MCH to see what the balance brings for MCH in August, if its not untill October or maybe even later, then i will give it up can not put up with it any longer to many bugs and very low damage output , sad really as i enjoyed MCH andit was the first profession i mastered..

I believe August is the "Corrospondant Issues" patch.
Vert? And what is our "issue" that you are submitting?

I don't know when the Combat Rebalance will be. I don't think there's a carved in stone date set for that at this juncture, and I could understand if the Devs want to be certain it's a surething before giving out a date.
With regard to the "Correspondent Issues" mini-publish... I'm not entirely sure what those issues will be. Every profession has a standing list of issues from which the Devs may draw, but as for whether they'll be taken in order of urgency or in some sort of evenly split distribution, I'm afraid I don't know any details.
