I posted this on swgcreatures.. thought I better get multiple responses..
I have an extensive pvp background in other games.. And I've piddled around with it, using burst run and rifle.. and it's worked out okay..
I think the pet would be a great addition to the battle as well...
Hey guys..
I tried to read as many posts as possible before posting this, to make sure it wasn't redundant..
I've chosen to go with a mix of Squad Leader, Creature Handler, and Rifleman.
I haven't worked out the exact details of it.. But I'll be going 4 0 3 4 in Squad Leader for sure.. and getting enough levels in CH to have two tough pets out at once.. so I'll at least get Management3.. I might as well get management4.. 2 points for 5 pet levels, and tameable mounts!
I'll probably also go up the leg which allows me to store more pets..
With squad leader, I've got enough burst speed and terrain negotiation to kite anyone.. for hours.. hehe. with the range defense bonuses and melee bonuses.. I'll be pretty tough to beat.
I'm also considerring going with Pistol instead of Rifle.
Pistol has better resist defenses, and also more accuracy while moving.
I'm looking for a pet with some kind of root.. or stun.. or even knock down..
In the 40-60 level range.. preferrably..
I'd like to go as low of level as possible.. to have more points for pistoleer.
Any ideas would be very appreciated!

Find a bio engineered pet that gives you the resists and offenses you want at a lower CH level.

I'm looking at getting somewhere around level 45 in pets..
I'd like to get two pets that level.. both of them with knockdown as a special attack.. one with some sort of poison, and the other with a disease, or crippling attack..
i'm looking at some different spiders..
if anyone has a good idea on a spider in the 40-45 level range.. that has knockdown.. let me know.
Thanks

I'm planning on going 4 3 0 4..
not sure what level that will allow me to have..
Still reading as much as I can.. and hoping that you more knowledgable folks can help me out..
I'll check out the BE forum.

Yes, find a BE on your server, and speak to him about your needs...
Also, FYI - the "Additional Pets" skill mod is the "actual" MAX number of pets you can call out at once.
And, that is also max'd out by the "Max Pet Levels" skill mod.
aka - at Master, with Additional pets = 3, and Max Pet Levels = 70, a Master can call:
a) one single 36th-70th lvl pet - total lvls = 70 (max pet lvls)
or
b) two 35th lvl pets - total lvls = 70 (max pet lvls)
or
c) three 23rd lvl pets (or two 23rd, and one 24th) - total lvls = 70 (max pet lvls)
or combinations like one 45th, one 23rd, and one 2nd lvl (again, total = 70).
So, if you're NOT a Master, your total number AND levels of pets you can call diminishes...check your skill mods, and make the calculations.

Thanks for that info
that's HUGE.. i had no idea it took that into account
maybe i won't worry about getting the management line.. and just try to find a good pet in the mid-20s or low 30s I can get..
could use the points somewhere else, if that's the case.
hrm...

You guys ought to be asking BEs these questions, IMHO.
They can create a pet with ranged attack that will tend to Kite the opponent, especially when their HAM is almost gone.
They can also create the specials you are looking for except knockdown.. but I think crippling strike works, so simply slap a dizzy/crip on the NPC and walk back a ways.
