Thread: I am 0/1/0/0 in CH now, anyway to gain faster?

I have a 900 HAM kaadu mount that I am using to kill gnorts, spineflaps, and other worthless creatures. there is hardly any babies around.
what is a good lvl 14 creature and the fastests way I can gain XP? I also noticed that if my pet is incapped at anytime, I get NO CH xp despite it was able to do damge. what else can i do to master this skill.

My advice would be to get buffed, drink brandy, get pet stimpacks, and go to the Geonosian Lab. Only go to the first room where the Crazed Geonosians are. Group if you can w/ whomever is there and keep an eye on the combat chat channel. As soon as your pet gets one hit in on a target tell it to follow you. When the target dies you get 1k plus xp. Rinse and repeat. I did 500k CH xp this weekend alone doing this.

ok I am now standing at 0/1/0/1 and gettng ready to get my 3rd one. I was able to get me a lvl 15 spineflap handmaiden and am getting 150-500 pts from fambaas and kaadus and other spinflaps.
I went and did rancors last night and was able to get 1040 xp per kill. I would try genosian lab, but I can not get past the first door, much less even get my pet inside. and this is with a full buff, muon, pixie, brandy, and 60%+ armor on.
also, my pet kaadu everytime he gets incapacitated, he refuses to get back up despite the healings., I end up having to STORE him then calling him back. Any reasoning why? cause my spineflap is not doing this to me.

That's a newly introduced bug. Pets trained as mounts do not follow anymore and they don't rise after incap. That wasn't a problem before version 6 came in. You can only hope those bugs will be fixed eventually as they are quite annoying.
Since you are CL 16 now, get yourself female swamp tusk cat or female plains tusk cat. Those are very nice pets at this level. They give quite a lot of XP being CL 16, but can hold their own in combat. (3900 HAM, 160-170 damage)

Get a BE pet. That's what I did, and my Chicken has served me faithfully since. They don't cost too much, either, something level 16 or so is perfect for leveling.

In my experience, going for the bigger creatures that give lots of xp is not worth it, unless you can deal large amounts of damage and kill them fast. If your template is like mine (BE/CH/almost Pike) it appears the best thing to do is get a baby (tamed or BE) and run to the newb areas outside a big city. You'll only get like 100xp but you get it every 5-10 seconds. If I attack something larger, like a piket, it might take me 3-4 minutes to take it down with a nice cl19 pet. In the same amount of time I could have killed like 20 rills for around 2K xp!As a side note, I think this is pretty sad that for low level ch's there isn't a reward for going after bigger game.

I came back to Creature Handler and in VERY short order was a 3,2,2,4 using this method.
Tame a cu pa at novice. Go to Dantooine, buff yourself and the pet. Take lesser plains bol missions work your way up to huurton missions.
Get Management 1, tame a female kaadu. Go back to Dantooine, buff yourself and thepet,grab bol lair missions. Have numerous stimpacks, petstims, and at least mid-level elite combat skills. Female kaadu's (not-mount trained) are the most fearless pet I have ever tanked with. Work your way to 0,0,0,4 in CH with this pet. It will happen fast with the xp you will pull in.
Get a second one, repeat the process, this time requiring fewer stims since two tanks are better than one, proceed to rock and roll your way up till you can move on to higher level paired tanks. Don't go for the single high power pet because the post-Publish 5 xp changes will draw your grind out forever, always split the strength to two lesser pets for the xp increase.

Simple solution to not killing big, bad beasties fast enough: Join a group. Vor hunters on Dant give 1k exp per for a level 16 pet, and they drop like flies in a good group, giving great weapons XP too. Plus the meat you harvest can be sold for lots and lots of money to grinding BEs

Get an uber cl 5 pet, setup a macro outside of a starter city, and go out and have fun.
0/0/0/2 CH Right now... almost 0/0/0/3. Not finding the profession fun at all with the steep xp requirements.
I'd like to try the Geno caves, but I don't think my pets can take it. LOL

1/1/1/1 in CH now after killing a few bols with my Spineflap. +20 Lvl now. got me a bolto at lvl 17 with 6-7k HAM (gotta train it for next few days)
I went to genosian caves and used my spinflap cause it had the most HAM at 2700. got schooled easily, despite being in a group. the respawn rates of the lap are horendous. couldn't even get past the entrance to get to the 1st room as suggested.
any other ideas?
