I was just wondering what is the best strategy for taking on Bull Rancor lairs in the hunt for that elusive baby. I have a Cl 47 BE gurreck, which can handle itself pretty well against a Bull rancor, with me at range firing carbine specials, or should I use my CL 69 combo; a DMA and a CL 29 BE Squall? The combined damage of the 2 is better, but I'm worried about getting 2 pets diseased instead of 1. Also, should I let the bulls, rancors and juveniles battle it out amongst themselves and I pick up the pieces? In which case I would lose looting rights yes? Which brings me to the next questions, do bull rancors, regular rancors etc drop any decent loot and if so, do my pets' damage count for me, or do they actually take away from my damage and subsequent loot?

Storing and recalling pets will get rid of disease, but you will still have the damage done to them to heal.
As long as you get a hit on the loser with your pet before it goes down, it's okay to let the rancor duke it out, you will get looting rights.
The only problem would be if you have a Bull Rancor (baby) spawn during the adult fight, because it will rush right in to get it's share of the fun and most likely not live through it.

I always allow all critters to spawn after tapping the lair and before I initiate combat, just for that eventuality.

The best thing to try to do is to get the adults far enough away from the lair, so that if the baby does spawn, it won't run to its death right away.

I would recommend using just one pet because u can use a real high lvl pet over 65 and still be able to tame baby. Also always let the full spawn come out because if a Bull baby comes out he will immediately aggro and go after your pet. You do not want to lose a bull baby this way and if you are in a group make sure all are a safe distance away and to let the full spawn come out.

Same here, i will let all the mobs spawn out of the lair when i tap it just incase, they aggro from 20 out (might be 25), so its very easy to get em solo and just pull em back once they aggro you.

That's a very good point Mil. However, I've always noticed that you can exceed your Max pet level if one or more of your pets are not fully grown. Case in point: I was hunting graul maulers with the above pet combo and was still able to tame babies when they popped even though the total pet level exceeded +70.
