Anyone else around lvl 80 and grinding starting CH. How much CH exp on avg are you getting when hunting alone vs a small group ? I am at work so I can not check atm. Reading all the bi##@!ing on the jedi forum, I think it may be very bad for us as well.. If everything is still based strictly on %, with no groups we will get next to nothing in CH exp. Does anyone have any numbers ? I need to know what I am in for...

The entire system seems completely busted... They "fixed" leveling issues for combat professions post CU by introducing LVL certified weapons.. Thus if you are level 54+ you can use a weapon that will do 300+ base dmg, and grind your second profession without too much problems. Grinding CH is like trying to grind your second profession with a n00b LVL 10 weapon.... With group exp gone, this will really become evident.

Add to that now with the new XP system if you are grouped with players that are higher in level then you are you no longer get as much XP as you do by yourself fighting critters of your level. Last night my new character I started up (non CH) was getting 580XP per kill on lvl 17 Bol missions...grouped with my Jedi buddy and went hunting lvl 80 and 81 Bols and was only getting 340XP per kill...and it took about as long for me to kill a 17 by myself as it did for all 3 of us to kill one lvl 81 Bol.

The new XP blunder for group size is going to make leveling CH pets a ridiculous job.

I thought the CU was to promote grouping? I tried entering 3 grind groups last night and all of them disbanded due to the headache of the xp system.

Soloing with my pets I do get very good xp, but now it will take me even longer to grind due to players not wanting to multi-group for low xp. Just I was starting to have fun in groups again with people tolerating a CH, this has to happen!

SOE, what are you smoking?

Is this a game or a job?

For all the positive this game adds, it surely overlooks all the negitive.

Hahaha... you know what is coming back ?

LOOKING FOR A GROUP FOR SOLO MISSIONS !!!!!

The only way I got semi-decent exp today was to group with my Alt TK and play 2 accounts at the same time....I made the ch pet guard my TK, and TK attacked everything. (ch was just standing around 50m away) Unfortunately my pet can not kill anything solo yet, and no one in their right mind will let me into their group. Its not really a solution but at least it works.

I was grouped last night with 3 jedi and some other combat prof and my pet I noticed xp for your pet is based upon there combat lvl not the lvl of the group ...A cl 70 pet was getting 2500 xp per kill vs a cl 23 gsp getting 540 xp I would say it is justified to have this in place seeing the Lower cl pets need less xp ... We ended up cleaning 7 lairs in 1 hour and I was able to rollover 4 pets 3 were above cl 50 so I dont think xp system is busted by any means for CH...

Part of the problem is the lack of transpancy now. The combat spam just says 'You've earn't CH xp' etc, you can easily miss the flyaway text, so now it's difficult to check exactly how much xp you gained for a particular action.

I would say that in some circumstances the new method works fine, but in others (some highlighted here) it has had a very negative impact. The explaination given by Tiggs was fine as far as it went for a very limited set of circumstances, but said nothing about varied CL's of toons, or varied damage outputs of said toons.

The XP screw job remains the prime headache.

Example: If you where a Master CH using a pet for over a year, you would of in that time, maxed that pet out on skill and he would be elite among the new rules.

When the CU hit, pets where completely messed up. Other professions when they respeced and entered the CU, all they needed to do was adjust a few minor things and go buy a new weapon.

CHers couldn't just go buy a new weapon (pet). Everything was messed up. Numerous people lost great BE pets and now you can find rares with innate abilities.

So now the new pet system is in place. If a CH wants an elite battle pet, they need to grind their pets like crazy to make them more deadly then their basic form.

A CH can't ADK thier pet. When it reaches 0 life in PvP, its gone. It's easy for an elite level 80 fighter to have rifle crafted to reach 1000+ damage. A CH needs to grind tons of high level XP to make his level 70 pet reach level 3 skills.

Veterans got no respect from these so-called upgrades. Just more work with a possibilty that pets MAY be more deadly.

Will CHers have the endless work chip on their shoulders to display proudly for all to see..yes, but will it be worth it in the end?

Xp for training is the same as it was before the combat xp nerf. I went out and rounded up a datapad of pets and sat down and trained them all for 100k xp a couple times last night.

As a master CH this is what i noticed.

1. Sometimes not all the time a pet will get only one xp if its in your group or not (no matter what level your pet fights), store the pet and log out then back in to fix this for now. Also Ungrouped pets gain better xp.

2. For some very odd reason Bio-e made pets wont grow no matter how much xp you get it.

3. If you get a new level of xp on your pet store it and recall it to get a growth update on it.

I think everyone needs to stop complaining about they hit us with the nerf bat... Again. Exp isn't nearly as much as an issue at content for CH's is. We sort-of recieved that content, now the devs are trying to balance the game out, because they noticed that the jedi, which ruined my game, were way too over-populated--I think they are anticipating the same thing for CH's, once they get the numbers down for the new system. What better way to prevent that than to raise exp standards, eh? I personally think it is a plus, because once it is all said and done, it'll be that much more worth while to you.

On another note, I believe the training exp is geared towards the brand new CH, not us old masters, dabblers, etc. Because I was giving it a good thought, and it makes sense; once you got around master, as long as you were occasionally getting babies for abilities, you should have over fifty percent, if not more, of the innate abilities already. But the maturity exp curve is pretty steep... Any word from TC on it being lowered?
