Thread: My pet does not grow

Hello.

I've got a Cu Pa that a friend of mine did (he was MCH and Bio-engineer and he told me it was "cooked in the microwaves", so I guess it was not tamed in a "natural" environment) Well, the thing is that the Cu Pa has reached its maximum level (9), but it does not have the proper size, so I can't use it as a mount. It's been in my datapad like this for some weeks now (poor pet, I know ).

A few days ago just realized of that "Training XP" stat, which is set to zero. So is my varactyl (with my other char), the one that I got because of preordering RotW. Then I remembered of the recent changes to the CH profession (I saw them in a recent publish, but did not pay much attention) and thought: I have to train my pet so that it grows. So I tried to make it attack some low level mobs (the pet cannot handle level 56 mobs itself), but it gaining no XP.

Could you please throw some light here? I am no CH and don't really have a clue about it, as you have already noticed. Just asked my friend for a Cu Pa and he came back saying "here you are".

Do I have to group the pet before it attacks?
Does it get my level when it's groupped with me?
Do I have to train it in combat until it maximizes the XP so that it grows to the proper size? Last time I had a pet, it was a bantha, and I just had to keep it in my datapad for a week or so, then bring it back to the CH so that he could turn it into a mount (the bantha he returned to me was not as big as the ones you see on Tatooine (I think) but I thought it was because I was no CH so the pet could not grow to its maximum size)

Any other information about pets will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

P.S. For your information, my friend left the game and so I can't ask him anymore.

I hate to break it to you, but only CH's can grow pets now.

Your comment "I am no CH" sums up your problems my friend.
You'll need to speak to a friendly CH and have them level up your pet for you, don't expect this service to be cheap though. BUT, a CL9 BE Cupa isn't going to grow large enough to be mountable anyway, best to also ask you nice friendly CH to grab you a nice wild one... again not cheap, expect to pay 100k as a minimum price.

2 things that you should know.

1. Since BE pets size by CL a CL 10 Chu-pa willstill be to small to mount when fully grown.

2. Pets grow in size by earning training XP, A pet can only earn training XP while being used by a CH. So it is impossible for a Non-CH to grow a pet.

And for future refference please read the stickys.

Thank you very much for the response. So, I need to have a CH do his job. Well, I think it's good the devs added this, because now you CHs will have more job to do and to get payed for (keeping apart the bugs or things that still need to be improved, which I am not aware of, but as a general concept I think it's right: you do your job and only you do it).

And better not get a bioengineered one, aha.

Thanks! I'll look for a CH right now!

if it is a be pet made prior to Ch revamp it will grow large enough to mount I had 4 in my datapad that I was able to mount as long as it was purchased prior to the revamp it will grow to mountable size...

So the key factor with my Cu Pa is that it was bio-engineered, not tamed (the reason why it does not grow to a size that allows it to be mounted), isn't it?

Apparently ATM devs have decided not to give BE the ability to make mountable pets I have not tried a carrion spat yet they seem to be larger as babies and mountable at smaller growth lvls from reports on the forums ...I would suggest having aCH grab a pet for you and have it mounted ...If you just want a mount you will find a CH selling them for 50-75k with no abilities...I know a couple of ch that have turned this into a profitable situation for themselves ...They are only taming mountable creatures and growing them in mass quantities

The key here is that the Pre-CU pets were tamed and in the datapad. If you purchase a Pre-CU or Pre-Pub 18pet deed and tame now it will not grow large enough to take a saddle.
