Thread: Taming Vicious and Wild Creatures???
The +tame vicious modifier that lets you tame an aggressive creature is not completely equivalent to the CL of the creature. The tamable CL is 15-20 above the modifier number, although I have not had any desire to dump my skills to find out exactly what it is below master.
In order to tame a creature, you must have at least a 15% chance of success. Further, there seems to be a bug where the control is two less than the tame chance (judging from master Creature Handlers that can tame CL 65 but only call CL 63). You were on the boarder of that so your clothes make up the difference.
Seiryuu,
As an MCH I have and useCL70, CL67BE Rancors and a pair of CL67 Kimos as the situation requires. I have not encountered the CL65/CL63 limits you refer to. As I understand it there are no wildbabies withgreater then CL65 so no one has been able to test the ability of wild taming greater then CL65. Is this what you are referring to? Bull Rancors are CL65, highly sought after pets due to rarity so I know they can be tamed and used.
Asheesh
Max Level of Pets determines whatlevel of pet you canuse. You must have sufficient Max Level to call and use a creatureofwhatever type, aggro or non-aggro
Taming Wild determines your chance of taming any non-aggro species baby such as a Mountain Dewback or a Kaadu.
Taming Vicious determines your chance of taming any aggro species such as Mountain Squill or Rancors. You MUST have at least some Taming Vicious to even begin to try taming an aggro type creature. The higher this number is the more likely you will have success. Some creatures are pointless to attempt to tame unless you are a Master due to their high modifiers (resistance) to taming.
Hope that helps,

Yet again, the Devs show us their completegenius in game development.
If not, are you wearing any +tame clothing or armor? Because a few months ago at least, a non-Wookiee could not call an aggressive pet over CL 63. Take the clothes off and try to call your pets.
If you are neither a Wookiee nor wearing clothes, then maybe this was fixed and they did not bother to tell us. Which would be sad, because they could use the positive PR.
