I was wondering if anyone has tried the combination of Bounty Hunter/ Creature Handler? It would seem having a stable of extra pets and a droid would give you a great advantage and the template leaves enough room to master both. Any ideas?

Would be utterly terrible, A jedi could destroy you as youd have no defenses and your pets could be just as easily killed or once your dead the jedi would just run.

I carry a large rifle. This large rifle and many like it, have done their job well. They have done their job well, 138 times and counting.

There were a LOT of BHs in the early part of the game (before Jedi came along) who took up some CH to augment their skills. A GSP or Grand Wrix made a great tank on a mark to keep it's attention off the BH.

Of course, that's PvE BH...PvP BH is a different story, and in PvP experienced players (who make up most of your Jedi, except the lowlife ebay types) know to ignore the pet and concentrate on its master.

It might be effective if you play it a little unfairly.....

Catch 3 Malklocs on Dathomir. Fully grown, those things are huge. Put them into a formation and set them on the Jedi. Because of the 3 large bodies, they block his view, making it harder for him to initially target or follow you. Since Malklocs are Lv. 22, you can pull all 3 out at once.

I'm actually a BH/MCH. I'm just at 3-0-2-4 in BH and use it mainly for the LLC and Scatter Pistol as most creatures have a vulnerability to Electricity or Acid. I mainly just PvE and have the Investigation line only so I can let jedi friends know that I see them on the terminals. I thought that a good team to use against a jedi would be 3 Mountain Dewbacks (CL20) since they have KD and Dizzy Specials. You would have to be quick and little lucky.

My full template

  • Master Creature Handler

  • 3-0-2-4 Bounty Hunter

  • 2-0-0-0 Medic

  • Novice Rifleman

With the range of weapons I have (T21, Scatter, LLC, FWG5,Bomb Bots, etc...) there's not alot I can't handle. Eventually I will drop to 0-0-0-0 in Medic to get 3-0-4-4 in BH.

I've had a couple of very successful BHs use pets I built for them. The pets don't attack but use their specials and will be sent to chase someone trying to get away with FR2. Crippling Strike, Intimidation and Stunning Strike are usually what's desired. If the BH isn't one with CM then a pet with Strong Poison and/or Strong Diseasewould also be useful I suppose if it works on command.

I'm a Master BH/CH 4-2-0-3, and that gives me the ability to use up to level-35 pets. It's a fantastic PvE template, but unless you go with a melee BH template, you're pretty much SOL in the current state of the game when hunting Jedi no matter what you do. At least, any Jedi with good Saber Block skills, until we're given some sort of counter for it.

Best I can come up with at this point is a pet with a good Intimidate special. Strong Poison would be handy if it worked on command, but since it doesn't, the next-best special would be Stun. That will keep a Paddie from using his Feign Death trick, and make it easier to get a knockdown/dizzy shot to stick.

Actually a good counter to Saber Block is a detonation droid since they do an AoE Blast Damage. My friend sells Adv R3's with almost 10K damage (in PvE)in one blast. Since I don't hunt Jedi, I haven't used them, but I know some other BH's that have gotten good results. One trick would be to call 3 pets and a bomb droid and try to confuse the Jedi with too many targets.

Since Jedi wear no armor and pets no longer suffer the 75% reduction in PvP i would suggest going for a set of twins (since CL directly affects damage Jedi do to a creature) with all vernabalities (to keep CL down) and as high a damage as possible and good specials.

I greatly appreciate the info guys. I was kind of hoping that as a CH/ BH could just overwhelm the Jedi with 2-3 pets and a droid and keep him at range blasting him, having the pets/ drois chew on him while he chased you and you kind of kited him around.

Guess this won't work. But of course I am a complete newb. I'm not even sure if Bounty Hunter can hunt dark Jedi which was what i was hoping to do as a Wookie. Or even if a Wookie is a good choice and can wear the BH armor people talk about. Come to think of it, I'd never even heard of a bomb droid until mentioned here. Thanks for your patience with me guys!

Jedi get a hunge damage bonus to any creature under 25k HAM and unfourtinately this bonus also applies to pets. Against a knight with a decent saber ive had pets take up to 16k damage in one hit! And as any good PvPer knows if you take out the CH first his pets become useless. Wookies are a pretty good choice for the popular TK/3000 BH combo because they have high hams and it is useless to wear armor against jedi because no armor except psgs has lightsaber protection. And as far as bomb droids go they are very usefull since in many situationsthey can one shot incap an unbuffed jedi and very seriously hurt a buffed one. BTW with jedi toughness a pet that does 300 damage will do around 100 to a jedi.

Well theres all the info on why I never went BH/MCH

Was MBH/MCH here for quite along time. I tested/tried just about every concievable tactic to make it viable...but its not

With the Jedi bonus to hit on creatures with 25k ham and lower they just mow thru your pets without even blinking. Even with the change to pvp damage from pets it made zero difference. Now the reverse can be true when using MCH/Jedi hehe. BH is abit surprised when he attacks a jedi and has 3 pets on his tail lol. Anyway, it was fun testing out the combo to see how it would workout.I hope the curb will give a big boost to CH as imo this is the best class in the game with the exception of jedi.
