I tamed a giant carrion spat baby last night. I want him to be mountable. I am training in the magical creature handler ways but dont have the training yet to enable me to sling a saddle over my big emu. I spoke to a ch master last night who told me that if i let my giant spat get to big i wont be able to mount him. My question to all u ch masters is this what level should i let him grow to before I enrol the services of a ch master to train him as a mount. Thanks in advance for anyone that replies to this post.

Depends what your control pets level is. If it is higher than the challenge level of the fully grown spat you will be able to call it and therefore mount it. If not then you will not be able to call the pet until your control level improves and therefore not mount it.
So if you want to ride it asap then check your control pets ability and get it trained as a mount before it's CL exceeds that number, otherwise you will have to wait until you advance further in the prof.
Hope that makes sense to you

You can get the giant carrion spat trained as a mount as soon as you tame it. I would do that. After level 12 (it's max is 18) it will get too big to be called as a mount and you'll be given an option to "arrest it's development" if you want to continue to use it as a mount.
If you do that, when you call it as a mount and for evermore thereafter - it will always show in your datapad as 12(18). Won't grow after you arrest it's development, but will still be completely usable as a mount and you'll still feel like everyone is an insect when you're on top of that thing...
