I was digging through my bank's safety deposit box yesterday and found an old Rancor just hanging out and scratching his butt.

Was curious if these are still tamable and work or if they are completely borked because of the BE update. He seems to be a decent Rancor for level 50.

Anyone attempt to tame one of these lately or even after the BE patch?

The deeds are bugged and yet another something the devs forgot to take out. Using a level 0 rancor when you're a CH or a non-CH is pretty clearly an exploit. For those of you that are going to argue with me about whether or not it's an exploit, I'm going to tell you what the CSR told me:

"An exploit is using a bug (like a bugged pet deed) to one's own advantage (like running missions with two level 50 pets because one shows up at level 0 or someone using a level 50 pet when they're non-ch)"

Look, we get enough cries for nerfs, let's not go around exploiting to give people more ammunition. The pet deeds from back then have been outlined as bugged, did you honestly believe a level 0 pet full grown is legal? To use a bug to your advantage (selling, taming it, fighting with it) is an exploit. I realize our profession has been nerfed back into the stone age, but do you really think using a CL 0 rancor or, worse yet, giving that rancor to a non-ch is really going to help?

if there was some accountability by the devs and TH, or if there was any "plan" on the fixing of CH...maybe I would be more open to what you have to say.

But as of now I say take that idealistic thinking and go chase after my cowardly rancor

I found a merchant with a prenerf RANCOR DEED. So i deed and it gets full grown and its only CL 0... I could pull out a rancor plus my arachne webmaster at once! Talk about ownage! I gave the pet to a friend who was a non CH wook and he could pull out the CL 0 rancor though it had the stats of a Cl 50 pet. Lol!
