Looking for some advice on this issue from some more experienced Master Creature handlers.

This is strictly for PVE.

What is the best tanking strategy. 2 35's or one.. much higher.

Also,... when you are in a battle, and creature is attacking you and not your pet... are there any tips, to get them to attack the pet instead??

I was fighting crystal hunters last night to varrying sucesss. I was okay when they were attacking my pets (which i could heal), when they started attacking me... 2 hunters at a time..i got real shaky.

Looking for some tank advice.

Thanks for your help.

It depends a bit on what you are tanking. Ultimately I would recomend having pets for both those strategies.

1 pet: A single pet has less total HAM and does less damage. The advantage is that it is easy to control a single pet and easier to heal it. Also because its likely to have more ham, and better resists it will lose vitality less often than a pair of smaller pets.

2 pets: They will do more damage, and you get more specials so its definately better offense wise. They have more total HAM than a single pet and commands that buff them etc, get double the effect for the same ham cost. Also you get more control (with a good set of macros) in that you can agro multiple targets and move MOB's around more precicely. If your in a group, multiple pets can be a great asset for protecting medics and crowd control. The down side is each pet is more fragile and its easeir for one of them to go down (MOBs will tend to group up on one of them at a time). They are also a bit more work to heal.

So overall I'd say two pets is better but takes more skill and planning to use effectively. I've also run a triplet of pets. It is great for certain kinds of missions (like the protect the factory Alderan mission). You can also handle large groups of NPCs without much risk. You need a serious set of macros to run them all and things can get out of hand sometimes.

I have very fond memories of triple Grand Wrixes from before the Publish 5 nerf. They were incredibly effective in PvE.

It depends on what you are doing. 2 pets can get to be chaotic if they start chasing things in different directions. I think this is a personal choice that is determined by your playing styles. I use combo's of one high/one low and combos of two same depending on what I am after. Just a thought though.
