Thread: My solution for the extinct/rare babies 'situation'
Nice Idea.
The thing that worries me most about rares, is just that they are rare, I dont mind rares as such, but how can they be used in anger if you are afraid it cant be replaced. When we master ch we get a raise from cl60 to cl70, and there is only one creature in that range, that should be the primo creature in everyones datapad, like a nightsister lance for a pikeman, something rare, but not so that a pikeman wont use it in anger. If the game has only one creature above cl60 to tame every master ch should have at least one. Its rareness justified by not being able to be owned by a none master ch to grow, or to be sold or even transfered, you have to get yourself. Everytime one is tamed, another should spawn 24 hours later. One (possibley only one) should be in permanent spawn on a server. Its the pinnacle of the profession, other classes arent excessively denied the best weapon/armour drop as much as rare pets. I thing every mch should have a Bull Rancor the best pet it should be, something to pull of and frighten people, I played jedi academy recently, couple of missions had rancors in them, picked up a jedi and shook him and stuck him in his mouth and chewed his head off (should make it a undocumented special attack, only useable in pvp on tka's) meaning it should be good, strong and tough. I dont think rancor lairs should be soloable, a single rancor probably but not 3 at once thats taking the %&*#, no wonder ch's are ticked off, not much point having one if its that weak. I mean someone with Imp faction can pull out a AT/ST with medium armour and 50-100% resists with only 2 vulnerabilities that (should) need a Master Commando to take it out, thats disheartening to have someone who doesnt spend any skillpoints have the best "pet" in the game.

I really like this idea, they already have resource shifts, wouldn't be too out of line to put babies on a rotation schedule too.It would keep us searching to see what is spawning that particular shift, so it wouldn't take the fun out of hunting for the babies. You wouldn't know for sure iffor exampleGPS were spawning babies until somebody found one, but during that shift maybe 2/3 spawns would have babies. And there would have to be more spawns, but if they only came around every 6 months or so for a two-week span, they would still be rare, but not non-existant.

I will be very suprised if this idea has not been thought up and posted here already, but here goes my version anyway.
quite simple really...
Make creatures spawn babies in the same way that resources spawn or 'rotate'.

So of course it won't work
This is another great idea. It makes sense, and really, from a dev point of view, shouldn't be too hard to carry out. Even if each mini-publish turns a couple on and a couple off.
Far as replacement goes, I don't see that as a problem. Pets aren't that easy to kill, as far as vitality goes and there are enough tanks out there that you could use. At least, we'd have the choice to have/use them.
