I'm a casual gamer who never plays buffed. I simply don't have time to wait in a buff line. I use chef foods and composite. My pets tank for me and I have BH for offense. My question is how would a TKM, Master Swordsman, or Master Fencer fair in my position in PvE? Considering I run unbuffed all the time, would I be better off mastering TKM and giving up MCH? Or are pets still my best option? Btw, I truly do love creature handling. I just don't want to miss out on any content.

If you dont want buffs, CH is probably the way to go. When I was a CH for a long time, I mastered Fencer pretty much unbuffed, and had very little trouble.
Put it this way, your pets are buff in themselves. They soak up the damage for you while you dish it out. You can use your specials till your completley out of HAM, and you're in no danger at all.
If you took a defense stacked template, you'd basically not be able to use specials at all. Just sit there and punch/hit stuff.
In the end, do what you want for your playstyle. Unbuffed, you won't be able to do as much with fencer/tk as you would with MCH. But, with tk/fencer, you have more fighting options (pvp, high level dungeons) where your pets would be more of a burdon.

Hard call, it's really up to you and your play style. What do you like to do in the game....what is most important to you?
I'm going through a similar issue cuz I just dumped Master Pistoleer to pick up TKM. I'm having more fun with TK than I ever thought possible. It is quite simply an amazingly fun and powerful profession to play. I'm now a 3 1 4 3 TKA and I will eventually get Master. I can dizzy and knock down most creatures in the game and Intimidate limitsthe damage done to me and my pets.
I've been buffed and running around on Endor with my pest out. I use a TMB and GSP because that get's me up to CL70 and I can pull 17k missions when grouped. Then I kill everything in between the city and my missions both going out and coming home. I'm getting 450k UA xp every 2 hours and I'll be a master in no time. However, there are times when i've bitten off more than I can handle, and I call in my pets to help get me outta the jam. Most of the times this works but I have died and so have my pets when we just get swarmed by too many creatures. BTW, it's not a good idea to fight lanter birds, where there are 3 lairs around the one you are fighting. They are social....no matter what lair they spawn from. That was insanity!!!!! Like 20 birds kicking all our butts and there was absolutely no way to get outta that jam.
For me, I'm wanting to get more into PvP...although I still enjoy PvE. Sadly in PvP, CH is just not effective at all. So perhaps I will end up dropping all CH and just go PvP all the way....but I don't like that idea so....I'm torn...
Good luck with your decision and sorry I don't have more suggestions. But I can say, I do not regret dropping pistoleer at all. TKA is much more powerful and fun.

If you want to PvP CH isn't gonna be much help. I got in a fight yesterday and sicked my 2 level 26 dogs on the guy, and even with strong poison they didn't make a dent. For PvE CH is still good, but buffs HAVE pretty much made it a hobby and not really neccesary. Join a guild with a doc or 2 if you don't like buff lines.
