Thread: Question about triplets
Either one dedicated tank, or two mid-level creatures.
Examples of what I own (all are wild except for the very first one):
Level 69 Gurreck
Two Boar Wolf Ravagers
Two Swamp Stalkers
One Toxic Merek Battlelord & One GSP (equals a perfect lvl 70)
One Rhoa Kwi Guardian & One GSP (again, a perfect lvl 70)
Three pets has been impractical since the December nerf (best you can do is something along the lines of 3 hilltop kimas, and their resistances are just not worth it, they can be picked off too quickly one at a time to do any real damage or stay in the fight), but if you can come up with decent Kin/Blast resists and an AR1 in a level 23 pet, then I would like to hear your results in the future. Good luck.
"what would you need blast resists for? in PvE, I mean..."
Easy answer. Npcs, in especially stormtroopers/rebel trooper faction fights. Example, I have a very good level 61 razorcat that is completely vulnerable to blast. I made the horrible mistake of pulling him out once during a crackdown drop (16 green scout and white stormtroopers all told), and to not get too grizzly he didn't fare too well in the fight, despite his very high HAM (12.5K), good specials and attack power (510 max dmg), plus the usual excellent speed you get out of a BE razorcat.
Most of the opinions I've seen prefer the two mid-level pets over anything else, even big tanks, but I can only speak for myself. ![]()
I hope other people help you out with their opinions as well.
Since I join into the fray, I use my pet as a shield/tank, basically.
When in groups, or even solo'ing with pets, I prefer using one, single pet. I feel more "at one" with the beast. Plus if the 'attack distance' bug kicks in in combat, and you pet starts RUNNING way from it's enemy trying to get into melee range, then you only have to hunt down ONE pet, instead of two or three.
Also, I don't want my pets to get db'd - I don't want vitality loss. I've only got 2 pets right now that have 98 vitality - one was due to server crash months ago during the combat, and the other was due to a 'PARALLEL UNIVERSE WARP' bug, in which my pet (and his enemies) WARPED to some unknown area, continued combat, as I lay incap'd...when I came out, and could FINALLY store my pet, calling him back resulted in a pet that WAS DB'd in that other reality, and lost vitality.
I think ona high level target, you will get burned with 3 23ish pets. If the mob takes out one, as some do, you're going to be standing by yourself pretty quick.
Far as a pair goes, I'm still experimenting on combinations. My thinking is a decent wild tank like a DMA plus a heavy BE around level 30 will give you most bang for the buck. But I still need to try some stuff to see.
