Ok we all know that CH has been nerfed from what was once one of the most powerful professions down to a profession that now leaves most asking themselves is there any point in it at all ( besides the token "I dont care about it's usefullness, I just enjoy it for what it is")

I endured the most dramatic nerf's while on my way to master, and after master, the nerf's that followed seemed more annoyances than anything else. But somewhere along the way, (possibly in the 2 months I took a break from playing) they seem to have nerfed the one true benefit of being a CH or having a CH in your group.

I just realized that it no longer matters if you have a pet engaged with an enemy, they DB you now almost instantly. Before, you would get incapped, but as long as you had a pet on it, you didnt get DB'd until the pet went down. This alone was the true benefit of CH in my opinion. Fighting Solo or in a group, being able to get a pet on what ever incapped you or someone in your group before it was able to DB was the one saving grace of the profession.

I ask this. What was the point in nerfing this? It only applied to PVE, it didnt make CH more powerful or really give that much of an advantage over another profession, and in my opinion it was more true to life having the enemy fight what was directly engaged with it instead of ignoring the rancor that is pounding on it to casually stroll over and give me a DB.

I never thought I would say this, but there trully is no point in the profession any longer and I am going to have to drop it. This trully kills an already dying game, at least for me.

Actually, that's one problem I DON'T have, the pets will still keep a mob from DB'ing me if the pet is on it. The problem is getting the pet on it, since more often than not its either not listening or it's autostored.

Ya could re-title this

.............and the whinning goes on and on....

Seriously it will never end no matter what, some people are never happy with anything (maybe that's why they play computer games 24hrs a day.....to escape reality...one for the nutcase experts)

Yep, and you're so much better, big guy, whining about other people. If you don't like it, don't read it.

Not a problem I've had either, long as the pet is on them.

There are certain mobs that will go after you (or I think more correctly, the first thing they attacked or attacked them) regardless of your pet's attack. Others the pet will tank for just perfectly.

Greetings,

This has been happening to me for months. Some creatures/npc's deathblow me before I hit the ground, Others begin attacking the pet and ignore me once I have been incapped.

Last night, while searching for Wild Dune Boars,I was incapped by a Giant Canyon Krayt. Knocked right off my bike. I was running from some Dragonets which had me on their radar. Once I was knocked down, spamming /stand to make an attempt to run, the Krayt turns and goes after the Dragonets. They don't keep it busy for long, but enough time for me to make to my feet and escape. The Krayt had enough time to kill me. I was wearing no armor and was flat on my back.

It seems to me that if another creature (including pets) attacks before the foe makes adeathblow strike on you, the attation get turned towards that creature. Otherwise, the deathblow strike hits you. Perhaps the creature needs to make a successful attack. I have never checked my combat log to see exactly.

Good Luck to All,

Actually I amreally for the Combat Rebalance. As a MRM I'm gonna be hit really hard by it but I feel there is no way I should be able to solo most planets which is something I'm able to atm. I think the game is too easy for us right now and I for one would like to be challenged again by something more than a Giant Dune Kimo.

(if this sounds like jibberish I'm sorry I had to take a painpill so I'm a bit spacey )

I agree completely. I have way more fun grouping with my friends and taking on a few mid-sized beasts unbuffed than I do going buffed and taking on a bunch of huge monsters. I'll do the buffs to collect some resources for profit but otherwise its more fun facing a challenge. It will be interesting to see how resource availability is impacted when a single person can't go to dantooine and bring home the bacon on a regular basis
