I'm not a CH yet, but am planning on mastering it with scout and rifle. Depending on how I like it, I may drop a column and pick up some ranger hunting. I've been buying pets, when I see a good one at a fair price. My question is, once you "open" a pet, is there anyway to get it back to a deed? Or can you store "opened" pets in a backpack or your bank? Also can I give a pet to one of my alts, for storage purposes, even if he cant control it? He wouldn't be using it, just keeping it on his data pad for me. Thanks.

once you have used the pet deed and its stored in your data pad there is no way of returning it to the backpack.. otherwise my house would be filled with pet deeds lol
and yeah you can let a mate hold the pet... remember that non ch can only hold 2 pets and i dont know if droids counts as pets..

I am planning to drop what I have in CH (2-1-2-3) and i was told that there was a "release" option, so you can "untame" your pet. Im not saying that this is true, but it is what I was told.

The release option on a pet works the same as the destroy option on anything else. It even says destroy in the radial. You get a cute message that you released the pet but it was actually destroyed. It does not run gaily into the distance or anything like that.

Yep, non-CH can hold 2 pets that are non-aggressive and level 10 or below. Also, everyone can hold 5 droids in their datapad, which does not count against pet storage. You should see my data pad... 22 pets, 5 droids, 3 vehicles and countless schematics.

This is true - but you have to trade the pet via the trade window (since using "transfer" when the pet is out will fail - they can't control it).
