I submit to you that if you are one of the old creature handlers left or a new one making your way to master that you are indeed a rarer sight than a Jedi.

That's because there's more jedi than creatures

This is nothing new. I and my fellow CH friends have observed this for months prior to the CU.

In fact, it got to the point where I was writing down the names of MCHs I saw around, because they were so rare.

I still intend on remaining one, although for me personally - some of the magic has been lost with the CU. Not anti-CU now that it's post-CU just things like the "rare" hunts that I enjoyed, pet specials etc.

Mind you - it's been a while since I've played so I've no idea if things have changed much since the CU.

Rop.

edit: played above meaning as in played more than a handful of hours. Longest session post CUis probably about an hour or so.

As a BE making pets I come into contact with many MCH, meet new ones almost every day. I'd have to say they are not rare like certain other professions. They are also not the FOTM. It really doesn't seem too bad from my perspective. Every server I'm on (which is 5)I know MCHs and people skilling up on CH. I'd place it in the top 50% of all professions. If you look at total population, yeah, hard to beat jedi numbers.

Bah the only thing rarer than a BE is an image designer!

Yep. Many people don't realize that MCH actually stands for Masochist Creature Handler.

every noob, one of his first elites is ch. they are fascinated by ch until they learn their skill points can be better spent on other things. if ch was better it could cause ppl to actually master it but as it is we know to master ch is to sacrifice.

You'll find every profession has their stalwart, crusty old-timers that refuse to give up their trade regardless of how borked it gets. I can name quite a few in the Droid Engineer community that fit that description...

having less people in the ch prof or any prof in the game compared to jedi isnt that much of an accomplishment considering the fact that jedi are everywhere!

Ya know.. that's really a good thing. On a scale of star-warsy ness - I think jedi are more fitting to people's core image than creature handlers. Yeah, it might not sync with the canonical data as far as numbers of jedi go, but friggin Jar-Jar Binks is part of canon Star Wars, so.. I guess I can tolerate the deviation.

((I still wish, however, that Jedi had vastly more disincentive to make their powers known/obvious dagnabbit!)
