Thread: Thanks alot DEV's/SOE...booted from adventuring!
I was invited to a group. CU is based on teamwork, so I figured since I was using my MCH, I would have some fun and kill some time.
Needless to say, due to CH bugs and headaches I was aksed to store my pets or leave the group.
Pets not listening! Pets running off when I am needed to help the group! Pets not tanking or doing great damage! Pet call timers making others leave me behind...15 seconds my butt, I own the pet...no timer! Pets working like crap!
Thanks SOE. I pay to play this game and you enforce teamwork with the CU. But when I become the team headache, the fun is ruined due to your poor work!
NOT HAPPY! Not that you care...
I have been asked and have asked people to store pets. I usually prefer them to call them upon arriveing where we will fight or once we get inside. Since they still and always have had hanging issues. Yes its a problem and needs to be fixed. Do not care about makeing players wait to call rides.
When that happens people are more then willing to wait and if not they just leave the ride out anyway. So there is really no point to this at all. Let the CH hotbutton a pet and call it instantly. Its not going to lead to any great abuse.
Without fail, every time I have grouped with people, they have complained about my pets. Since I'm an MCH, all of my "good" pets are level 70 and therefore huge. Sure, people think my pets look cool when I first whip them out, but the instant battle starts and they can't see anything (and neither can I), there's no point in leaving my pets out (especially when a level 20 combat prof character can outdamage my level 69 rancor and my level 70 shear mite - the best pets I have :smileysad
. Also, the ridiculous wait after battle for me to store my pet means I arrive at the next lair at least a minute or two late. Then I have to pull my pets out again, which means another long wait till I'm ready for combat. Sure, I could leave them out and they could follow me . . . which would work if they were capable of traveling faster than a crippled dwarf nuna.
Frankly, the devs have managed to make CH a non-combat profession, since we can't tank and we can'tfight on our own (pets are too weak)and (as proven above) we can'tfight in a group. We're also not a merchant profession, because we can't really sell the pets we have unless we give up valuable creature spots to tame level 10 and below mounts. So, pray tell, what is our purpose in this game? Either destroy the profession and let us respec, or fix it!
Note totheorb22: I have heard that they made it impossible fora CHto make a creature attack its own species. Whilethis can be limiting, I guess it could help with your problems with your rancor against otherrancors. . .

i'm STILL waiting to hear the
"it was ???? idea to make the creatures
move at speeds that are slower than the
players walking around"
seriously whose idea was it to make the
creatures slower than molasses
I've been asked to put creatures away as they are just too huge at higher levels and people can't see but that was only once in the caves of Kashykk .
Went to take down a base the other day (my first one!) and watching my rancour stomp across the battlefield was great!
Agree that we are not that good in combat with creatures (I'm a MDE, MCH - double whammy! lol) but enjoy watching my creatures scuttle off (slowly...) to do my bidding. Not had too much trouble with them wandering off - just keep the /tellpet follow me on standby...
This is why I don't team up with people I don't know because I've got fed up with people moaning at me because they "can't see over ur stupid narglathes". Is it my fault they decide to make their chars very, very short? LOL
I have gone as far as I can on Wookie World (TM) because SoE have made it so you have NO CHOICE but to team up to complete quests and I don't enjoy being shouted at by people who have no understanding or consideration for the problems we MCH and CH have. So I won't be completing any quests soon. hoo hum. ![]()
The way round the "wandering pet syndrome" I have is to call them back then make them stay. tis the only way I can stop them wandering off to find Bantha poo to roll in. ![]()
