Ok, I've come back from a long layoff. I'm MCH and I won't give that up, I love my little buddies in the datapad too much to drop it. I'm also Master medic and a few boxs into pistoleer..which I'm not happy with.
I'm looking for a new combat profession to go along with MCH and any suggestions would be great. I'm not much of a PvP'er and prefer to hunt big game PvE. I'm looking for a combat profession that can actually deal out the damage and hold their own against spawns with the help of my creatures.
I am willing to drop everything in Pistoleer and marksman, and most all of medic if I have to to get a foothold on a new profession.
What would you guys suggest? I'm not a crafter (except for the occasional StimC) and would be happy just buying my stims and medpacks if I needed to.
What about:
TKA? Do I have enough points to master it with MCH?
Swordsman? I've heard a lot of great things about them, but I'm clueless how they work?
What would you guys go with?

i'd suggest TKA, that's what the number 1 PvE and PvP from my guild does.
with MCH an MTKA, you could go medic 4430, or some other combo.

I've just came back to SWG. Left as a TKA, it was fine. Since I've been back I've started up the master rifle tree's. Myself, this is the bomb. Put the pets on guard and use concel shot, that worked well, slow but well. I just got both of my aoes. Now things are really moving. Put pet(s} on nest, use aoe's and they fall rather fast, plus everyone is stunned. I'm working the dat mobs, with these I'm not buffing xcept brandy for mind, not using my armor and still rolling along. One major plus to me from being in the tks line is I can still keep the meditate line. Whatever works for you both are good, I guess it depends on what distance you like to fight from.

I've been looking at a new build, too, and this is doable:
Master Scout
Master CH
TKM
Ranger 0/0/3/0
No SP left with this build, but who cares? This build allows you to heal yourself but not your pet, except with pet stims.
You can basically master any of the seven "straight" combat profs and keep the scout portions of the build, dependig upon what you want to do....TK, fencer, swordsman, pikeman, rilfeman, pistoleer, carbineer.
