Aw crap, I thought they could. Guess I didn't look at the Level once I tamed 'em. Oh well, some more datapad space for me then =P

Maybe this is a stupid question, but I have a few friends who have asked me for cu pa mounts. I have 4 partially grown ones in my datapad, but I notice that they will all be cl 11 when grown. If I mount-train them at cl 10, will that halt their growth?
If not, is there any way to make them usable by my non-ch friends?

nope. only way to get a non CH a cu pa mount is have it made by a bio engineer. no wild tamed cu pas can be used by non CHs

Can you do that as a CH? When I spoke to him last night, I didn't see an option to do this. Do I just drag it onto the toon?

If you do that, you won't get a cu pa back... you'll get an unmountable kwi.
The "pet trade-in" program can't create things that don't exist in the wild. There are no CL 10 or lower cu pas, so it goes with the next closest non-CH body type (in this case: kwi).

You can always hunt down a friendly BE and ask them to make you one

Trade it to the CH trainer and he'll give you a lvl10 cu pa. If it was a mount before you clicked and dragged to him then he'll be a mount after.

I found a vendor with 2 BE CL10 cu pas, which, by coincidence, is the number of friends who wanted cu pa mounts. I paid 500k each for them (money's not an issue with me), but I'm concerned that they'll be considered exploited at some point.
Here the stats I remember:
Kinetic resist: 60%
Blast resist: 39%
HAM: 9700/6000-ish/3000-ish
Damage: 120-140
I think they're worth the money I paid, but like I mentioned, I'm concerned about them getting nerfed with an upcoming patch.
Opinions?

The old addage is "too good to be true". I am a BE as well as Chef, and for one, I know I can make a level 10 Cu Pa. What I won't do is sell a pet at Level 10 with uber stats for 500K each. At some point, probably when you try and call it out, you'll get a message saying "Stats don't match creature level" and you'll have to adjust the pet level or the stats. I personally believe it will get nerfed at some point.
While I will sell uber level 10 pets, you won't pay more than the 15% above wild creature stat pets that I make. I don't want someone paying a TON of credits for something they won't be able to use at some point.
Your best bet is to use the "Is my pet around 15% better than something in the wild?" rule. If it is, then your more than likely safe. If you don't, do not get upset if your pet doesn't stay with those stats or levels.
As a side note, Chefs do make food to enhance pet Health stats. Worth looking into for the extra "umph!" your pet may need. Check out the chart at http://home.comcast.net/~sciguyco/swg/FoodChart.htm.

I did mention that money's not really an issue. I was just desperate to find cu pas for my friends, and this was like the 10th vendor (and the first with anything on it) I'd been to. If the stats get nerfed in the future, but the pets stay cu pa mounts, I think my friends would be happy.
In that case, yes, I overpaid, but /shrug.

Please realise that I meant nothing negative towards you. Value is in the eye of the buyer. I may think it is expensive, but if you really want it, credits have no meaning. I was just trying to share my views on BE pets and mounts. If you and your friends enjoy the mounts, then you paid a fair price. If you got let down, then you have a hunting party of your own to put together....*evil laugh*.
