what food items are good for creature handlers? I know jawa beer for mask scent, but what is good for taming?

Lets see if I can think of them all.
For you the CH:
Jawa Beer +To Mask Scent
Almond Kwavuu Crunchies +To Taming
Gralinyn Juice + Creature to-hit bonus
Veghash +Creature Harvesting
And for your pets. 
Blap Biscuit +Health for pets only
Pastebread +Action for pets only
Felbar +Mind for pets only
and the best for your pets is.....Sweesonberry Rolls +Health, Action and Mind for pets only

You know, I use blap biscuits all the time, but just to heal wounds on pets. I've never seen a buff on my pet after they've eaten one. Can anyone confirm that these bonuses actually work?

I've used most of those and love them. Except anymore I'm having probs finding a good supplier. The guy I used to buy food from doesn't seem to be in existence anymore *sigh* He made good stuff too. Any suggestions about who makes good pet food/products?

I wanna say that you can use Vercupti Too? (I have a master chef i should know this) Umm and the Kliknik fortitude and Kwi Fortitude Enhancements give it too, when i was doing the Geo Caves with Bonzai (Faithful Gurreck) he ate the Kliknik Fortitude Enhancement that i had looted earlier. And the Basics Ahrisa, Blap Biscuit stuff like that your pet can use when its hungry.

It sounds like you're using the "Feed" radial menu option. Don't do that for "special" pet food... the pet will just use it to heal Health/Action wounds, as you're experienced.
Instead, drag the special food out of your inventory and drop it on your pet in the world. You'll see a message in spatial like:
(Fido) Yummy!
Your pet will then get the buff provided by the food until it wears off or the pet is stored. Pets don't have a "stomach" -- they can only be under the effects of one "special" food at any given time.
Just be careful, because using the "Feed" option to heal wounds will take food from your top level inventory indiscriminantly. The usual workaround for this is to put "special" foods in a container like a travel pack or satchel, so the pet won't gobble them up for wound healing.
