I think for you folks having issues with agro it depends on the pets ability.

I found a mature reptilian flyer with aggression (L3) and while I still get some agro, its very manageable so far.

I think overall this is a great plus for CH's. I will miss using my old pets because of their history, but I"m excited about the new abilities and don't mind playing with them in groups. I think CH's getting to customize their own pets is very nice, and for my part a welcome change. Like having weapon specializations - unique for my playstyle.
