I am a new MCH and I love this profession..... What I want to know is which of these is the best template for a MCH:

MCH / Master Rifles / medic

MCH / TKM / medic

or any other suggestions....thank you.

PS: Already got a Rhoa Guardian and would have had a pack leader but.....friend did an area attack and dead pack leader baby....

Both are good templates. TKM is self healing, of course, but you don't have the ability to zap fido and fix his wounds like a Jedi does, so medic comes in handy for quick heals with stim-Bs on the pets.

Some CHs like to have the pets tank and hold aggro while they snipe away; others like to get in and fight with their pets. I've only done the TKM route myself, in JTL beta, and it's pretty effective.

Until I went on a sabatical, I was working on MRM/MCH/0220 Medic, that way you can heal yourself and hunt mostly unbuffed, with the exception of some buff foods. the TKM is good, but mostly would need buffs with it, but the healing with out medical is real nice, cause then you could dump it into ranger.

Thanks to the answers so far.....way i see it

TKM = meditate

Rifle = various types of damage

However, I am thinking of doing what I thought was unthinkable.....dropping rifles. I want to be with my pets and be a "tamer"......

i know that this is not one of the choices but i am master swords MCH and 4000 fencer and find it VERY VERY VERY effective. I get right in there with my pets, and am able to hunt many things and most of all have tons of fun. I dont see a need for TKM because you cant heal psn or disease while in a fight and if ur not in combat your better off just to wait to attack soemthing else for the psn to wear off. besides, tkm is basicaly uselss in PvE

hehe .... or you have never been tkm, or you have never fought screechers (they wound you for 999)..... but i must completely DISagree with you

The only difference between TKM and swords, is that tkm is limited to kinetic damage, and thus cannot take on npc'c like elders .... but who cares, we shouldn't be able to take them on solo anyway, and soon noone will be able anymore ..... that's why i prefer wound/disease/poison healing + the amazing damageTKM can take over swordsman.

I spended the rest of my points on 0030 medic for stim C ..... as I usually fight unbuffed ....can you Swordsman do that too, fight unbuffed ?

So I am still stuck where I was before.....Rifle for damage types (which I am now) or TKM for meditate, etc....

I am MCH/MTK and I recommend it. It is great. Do not discount the importance of mediation. If you are going to hunt rares, it is almost required. Most of them have nasty poison or disease and they use it liberally. I also have a little medic. When I am buffed it helps with pet healing. When I am unbuffed, I use it on myself too. I am not big on doing NPC's but can take out most of them. I also have little problem with high kinetic AR creatures. The only 100% kinetic creature I can think of is the Peko Peko Albatross. But most higher level creatures have some type of special attack. I do wear composite armor when buffed or Ubese if I am unbuffed. I have tried MR and Pistoleer MTK is just more fun. I have had other players come over to see what I was because I am burried in a pile of various rancors and they can not see my tag.

So on the albatross you just send a tell to a rifleman friend? Well I started my "rares" search last night on Endor...I found a screecher nest (no babies - of course) and left the planet blackbarred and still ticking from their nasty. I think TKM is the way I will go.....

The best overall template if u want max combat is:

Master tk/ medic/ master ch

Best overall hunting template is

Master riffleman/ masterch/ ranger with track 3

Ultimate template

Master ch/ jedi

Since you are from Radiant if you would like to discuss the benefits of other professions such as swordsman or bounty hunter can do so as I have done them all.

Milteck (BEAST)

Master ch/ master riffleman

Dorran (BEAST)

Jedi Master CH

Has completed the Creature Handler jedi trials

I think TKM would be better because than the creature you are attacking keeps switching who it attacks between you and your pet. This would equal less damage for both of you at the end of the fight since you share the attacks.
