I've recently started my road to becoming a CH and i'm 0/0/0/1 in it.I find myself not caring about distance and just run across the plains of different planetswith a BE gurrcek at my side taming and killing whatever I feel I can. I notice when I'm not in a hurry I can cover 4000m in what seems like no time at all. Does anybody else leave the speeder at home and do thisjust enjoying the life?

That's prettymuch the way I have always done it. On foot is the way to get good CH XP, in my opinion.

OMG i know the feeling!
I jump on my bantha...grab my two kitties and wander the lands in search of rare pets. I also use my time hunting rares to work on combat exp and just have a blast..i dont even get off the bantha to use special attacks.! its so much fun and theres something about exploring that is great. I love this aspect of the game. Give me the country life any day...hehe
i feel like a pioneer back in the days when the U.S. was first being discovered...haha.

Yes, I'm hunting Frenzied Grauls and this is exactly how I work, its 6k from the city I log in to my main search area and always do the trip on foot and start with my wild tamed Gurrek with me.
I certainly dont do this for xp as my xp is maxed on all except combat xp, I do this so that I can see all the spawns as the server pops em up. Some of the nicest surprises found that way 8)

I rarely use my vehicle. I do use my mount, though more often than not I run with my pets trailing behind me. Of course, there was a time when there were no mounts or vehicles and you had no option but to run every where (or take a shuttle) - and you had to run uphill..both ways...in the snow...barefoot. Ok, I'm kidding about the snow.
Back in the "early" days, I almost never took a shuttle and would run across a planet just to see what I could see.I wouldfind the mostinteresting things just stuck out in the middle of no where - statues, abandoned villages, shrines, graveyards, all sorts of stuff. You really come to appreciate the art that's in this game. I still discover things I haven't seen before. And what really amazed me about those things is that they were out in the middle of nowhere in places people would hardly ever see them. I can only guess that the devs put that stuff there just for us people who like to explore.

Hi
for me its 50/50 i use my bike if i want to buy from a players vender and im egar to get it, or if my friends use thier bikes to get to a mission then i have to..
i also like going most places on foot with my pets out by my side, i have even set up camp way out from citys sat thier in the camp with my pets, i then go andget a drinkand a sandwich, come back sit in front of the monitor eating and drinking while watching the world go by
most people would say im a sad person, may be a lot of people would......but im happy in my own little way

NO CAPTAIN, I SEE NO SHIPS JUST HARDSHIPS
**I once ask a group if thay wanted a hand "as im a creature handler" thier reply was: no thanks we are in a hurry**

I would totally agree with you Noah.
Camping just isn't the same as it used to be. People just get buffed and tear through missions. Half the fun for me is trading stories, interacting with the others, watching the world.
CH and Ranger really are a unique brand of player I've found.
I'd rather camp in the wild than stand in a buff line anyday.

I use a speeder to get to specific areas, the go on foot (or on a mount) from there. For example, I went by speeder to the swamps near Dearic to hunt down some Sludge Panthers. But when i got to the edge of the swamps, I stored the speeder and hopped on my Bol.

as a CH before player cities, before vehicles, before mounts, before JTL travel...
I walked everywhere.
CH xp as I went, a chance to see the terrain and features, and a great way to learn about the available critters.
I'm always surprised when people ask me about 'rare' critters, like wasteland cu pa's, the old mountain krevols, and whatnot. they're only rare if you stay on the beaten path.
