Thread: My Pet DOES NOT Gain EXP

I recently bought a level 5 Cu Pa from a BE... After having it trained by a CH I started having it kill things, but no matter what I did It would not gain exp.
I tried things my level, it's level, in between our lvls... In a group, Out of a group... Having it attack first, in the middle, or causing the final blow.......

Nothing worked....
I went back to the guy I bought it from, he tried it out, killed a level 1, got 1 exp... killed a level 4, got 399 exp.... no problems... Even after he traded it back I couldn't get it to earn exp.
I have no points in CH at all.
Any ideas?
Do you need to be a CH to gain exp for pets?

by the looks of things you need to be a ch to train pets (not jsut teahc tmhe stuff but leveling tmhe up so they cna leanr more) perosnalyl i see this as a godo thing ch's will finaly become what we're ment to be tamers and trainers of pets, if someone what s apet trinaed they ahve to find a ch to train it and negotate a fee ultimatly based on how long it'll take us
id say wait aq weke or 2 and ch's will start offering training services (having gained abilities they cna teach) iv egot plans to try aqnd organise as many of the ch's on chimaer as i cna to offering such a service (beast and non-beast alike so that poeple on the server can get thier pets trained up easily and find ch's with the aibliteis they wnat tiher pet to have easily

he eive never taken any typing lessons but as for the exact reaosn for my posts being liek tihs do a search on my psoting history i think thers at least three explaining it

As a BE and Novice CH on one of my toons I know that of my 6 BE pets (what can I say I like to make them) four gain training experience, one does not gain any training experience, and one is uncallable since Pub 19.
I /bug'ged my broken pet IG and I would suggest that you do the same with your pet.

This would be the problem. You need to be a Creature Handler to have them earn experience. Also, once it learns a skill from one Creature Handler, it will not gain XP or learn skills from any other Creature Handler.
