Thread: Need Correspondent to Speak to Devs Important

Okay, things are changing, so I think we need someone to bring up a "new" topic to the Devs.

After Pub 21, ALL wild Rancors are now level 76, therefore if anyone had a tamed wild Rancor, they would be uncallable now.

In the past, this was not much of a problem, but now....

If we have a level 62 to 70 pet, we will be spending between 300,000 to 400,000 xp per level flip. That is a significant investment in our time and energy.

If we have a pet we spend a couple weeks grinding, and finally teaching specials, the Devs can't decide to change that creatures level above lvl 70.

The Devs have gotten into the habit of stealth nerfing creature levels, and this has to stop now. They changed the rules on us, okay, but they have to be aware of the consequences of future creature "adjustments".

My old rancor was level 50, same as always after the publish. Also, I ran around Dathomir for a while and tamed several regular Rancors as welll as Rancor Youths that were all 50. I've got some friends with Rancors that all stayed 50. It sounds like an individual problem, and something that was not intended.

I believe the regular Rancor is still CL 50. Gnarled Rancors are now > CL 70, but that has been the case since the CU went Live. Bull Rancors are CL 65. Is anyone else having a problem calling regular Rancors since Publish 21?

Bet it was someones mission...did the lair say "Pile of rocks" or "A rancor lair"

If it was not "A Pile of Rocks" then it was generated from a mission term and can have a different level

Interesting,

I saw 3 separate groups of Rancors, no nests nearby in 3 separtate areas of Danth. All were level 76. I personelly don't have Rancors as pets. They could have been from abandoned missions and had wandered off.

Anyway, the other point I think is valid. Most of use have pets that were nerfed, mine was the Gaping Spider Recluse Hunter. I miss the spud, but I could "replace" her.

But if they nerf a pet level beyond 70 after I train it up, that is a whole different kettle of fish. I think the Devs need to really understand this.

regardless of this case... the issue is still valid.

its not just about a players particular fondness of an 'old friend' that comes into play when a CL gets moved above 70.

the broad stroke CL changes that have gone on since the CU first hit will going forward have real impact given the time it takes to level a pet. And its somethign that if they aren't already thinking about they need to keep in mind before they make any other CL changes (up or down). We can't one day wake up and find that that CL69 reptillian flier* that we've spent the time to train and fill with specials is now either CL79 or
* insert your creature of choice there...
